I've often wondered what it would be like to be able to take a piece of wood and, with the use of a knife, make something beautiful. In 2004, I thought I'd give it a try. I did not want to attempt a caricature of a person or animal; I wanted to start with something more basic. I have always loved spoons. I am not sure why-but I love the feel and designs of different spoons. So, with the use of my husband's pocket knife, then a set of exacto knives, I choose a piece of wood and worked away. It took only a week before I had my finished product...
For two years I carved while my husband was in school, and sold my wares on-line, and to friends, and friends of friends. I didn't know then what I was doing, but I did it with gusto, and in the process, hurt my hands...
