Born in Dublin, Ireland, Katie's namesake would become the inspiration for the Irish pub established by four local Irish-American men, including Katie O'Byrne's grandson - John P. Maloney. The Irish four set out to create a comfortable bar that would serve a simple menu for its thirsty patrons.
