LEG UP TRC - Key Persons
Debra Rose, a long time resident of the Colorado Springs area, grew up riding ponies and horses. She has overcome many life challenges and believes the early grounding of her connection with the outdoors and with horses is irreplaceable. She earned a degree in Modern History with a minor in art history and a further emphasis in Communications and film, from CU Colorado Springs in 1992. She created and operated a successful local architectural stained glass business for over 20 years, from 1982 to 2004. In 1995, she designed the adult stained glass program at Pikes Peak Community College and taught there part-time for five years. She has been extensively involved in the development of two local community art buildings: Roby Mill Studios (where Smokebrush now is), from 1991 to 2001 and Cottonwood Artists School and Studios (downtown), from 2004 to 2007. She is associated with FutureSelf, a successful local non-profit that provides art workshops for at-risk youth. Debra also has on-going training and coaching experience in cognitive mindfulness work.
