Christine Ziemba

Christine's mom put her in dance at the age of 4 because she always walked on her toes. Christine has been dancing ever since! Christine was a tenured dancer and dance teacher prior to opening up METTS Dance in 2002. Christine has danced for area studios, colleges, theatre and Unique Dance Company since the age of 16. Though known for tap, Christine is a classically trained ballerina with a love of expressive dance through the lyrical and Contemporary styles. While obtaining her bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University, Christine became a fitness instructor and created new styles of Dance Aerobic Classes at the University's Fitness Center. Christine obtained her Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling where she focused her thesis on developing a Dance Therapy program for 4-6-year-olds who have lost a loved one. In addition to being trained to teach ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop, Christine has certifications as a Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Aerial Yoga Instructor and Fitness Instructor.Christine believes dance is for everyone and wants all the students who come to the studio to feel welcomed and to walk away feeling accomplished, proud and happy.

Eleanor Fish

Eleanor "Ella" Fish is a dancer, choreographer, and recent graduate with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Dance Studio Administration from SUNY Fredonia. She began dancing at the age of 3 and grew up as a competitive dancer where she performed in many recitals and competitions. She has studied styles such as contemporary, jazz, improv, modern, musical theatre, street styles, ballet, and tap. Her favorite styles are contemporary and jazz. Aside from movement classes she also learned topics such as dance history, pedagogy, and kinesiology that have helped with her teaching. She has taught many different styles of dances and has choreographed for group dances as well as solos and duets. Her favorite styles to teach are jazz and contemporary and she has even received awards for her works in these styles. She loves to make a safe and welcoming environment for all dancers in her class to thrive and be confident, not only in dance, but in life.

Elizabeth DeJoseph

Elizabeth began dancing at METTS Dance at the age of 4. Elizabeth studied primarily jazz, tap, ballet and lyrical while also taking hip-hop, jazz funk and musical theatre. Elizabeth began assisting at METTS Dance in Middle School. In 2020, Elizabeth chose to attend SUNY at Brockport to continue her Dance Education. Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree while majoring in Dance and minoring in Business and Kinesiology. While at SUNY at Brockport, Elizabeth expanded her Dance through Jazz and ballet as well as the extensive study of modern and African Dance. Elizabeth spent three years with the Brockport African Dance Tour Group Sankofa where she worked with choreographers from multiple regions of Africa. During her four years at Brockport, she spent 2 of them as an Officer for the Student Dance Organization at Brockport.Elizabeth is excited to return to METTS Dance, this time as a member of their teaching staff.

Kaylan Ruiz

Kaylan has been dancing since she was 6 years old in her hometown of Port Jefferson Station, NY. Kaylan instantly fell in love with Creative Movement and continued her dance training through college. Kaylan holds a bachelor's degree in childhood/special education with a concentration in dance from SUNY Geneseo.

Marissa Ries

In addition to being a dance teacher, Marissa is a Community Wellness Specialist for Spectrum Health and Human Services. Marissa enjoys working with youth and families during the day with her bachelor's degree in early childhood development. Marissa has been part of the METTS Dance Family since it opened. Sarah J. Ziemba

Sarah has been dancing at METTS Dance since she was 1 ½ years old. Sarah has trained under the studio owner as well as taken part in area Dance Teacher Trainings. Sarah is currently working on her 500-Hour Aerial Yoga certificate after obtaining her 50-Hour.
