OCLI, a Spectrum Vision Partners (SVP) managed practice, today announced it will be welcoming Adam Botwinick, MD and Ashwinee Ragam, MD to the OCLI team of doctors. Dr. Botwinick, a Glaucoma… Adam Botwinick, MD is a fellowship trained glaucoma and laser cataract surgeon. Dr. Botwinick received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 2011 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for his academic achievements. Dr. Botwinick completed an internal medicine residency at the renowned New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center and he is board certified in internal medicine. He then began his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. He went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the same institution. Dr. Adam Botwinick is a member of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Botwinick is available to see patients in OCLI's East Meadow and Valley Stream offices.

Allison Angelilli, MD, FACS received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency at New York University Medical Center/Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital followed by a clinical glaucoma fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Angelilli is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and Northwell Medical Center where she plays an active role in resident education and research. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles on the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. She is a member of numerous state and local societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the New York Glaucoma Society, the Ophthalmic Laser and Surgery Society and Women in Ophthalmology, and she is the past president of the Long Island Ophthalmologic Society. Dr. Angelilli is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Fellow of the American Glaucoma Society. Her clinical interests include the medical and surgical management of adult and pediatric glaucoma utilizing the latest technological treatment options including selective laser trabeculoplasty, trabectome, Kahook Dual Blade goniotomy, Xen implantation, trabeculectomy with and without Express shunt, Baerveldt implantation, and Ahmed Valve implantation. Anzhelika Vaccaro, MD, is a glaucoma specialist, born in the Republic of Ukraine to parents who have a passion for figure skating. She spent 13 years of her childhood preparing for a career as a figure skater, touring and competing. It taught her self-confidence, to remain calm under pressure and to work hard for her goals, all of which have stood her in good stead since she came to the United States in 1995 after graduating from high school. Dr. Vaccaro enrolled at Borough of Manhattan Community College and took a job in a pediatrician's office. By the time she entered Hunter College, she knew she wanted to become a doctor. Volunteering in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's pediatrics department affirmed her goal and focused her on pediatric oncology. Interested in the causes of cancer, she took an internship at Rockefeller University, where she learned molecular biological techniques studying protein interactions. Through the Hunter Linkage Program with Cornell University Medical College, she joined a research program focused on the molecular regulation of kidney development during embryogensis, using morphological and cell biological techniques. She wrote up the results of her second project and is the primary author of this study, submitted for publication - a highly unusual achievement for an undergraduate. Dr. Vaccaro received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, completed her ophthalmology residency from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed her glaucoma fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Vaccaro is an associate at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, OCLI, an eye care group consisting of over 140 eye doctors and surgeons representing a broad spectrum of specialties in ophthalmology and optometry, with 61 locations throughout Long Island.
