Ciriaco is one of the longest tenured employees at Rancho San Miguel having started his horse career her in 2004. He has performed various roles over the years but found his niche four years ago when he became the Stallion Manager. He takes great pride in his stallions and they have a mutual respect for him as well. Clients always remark how well maintained the stallions are kept and how well they behave. Ciriaco turns the stallions out into their individual paddocks , brings them back in at night, baths, grooms feeds them and cleans their stalls every day. Ciriaco plays a critical roll in the success of the Farm.

Danny, who has over 30 years of experience caring for horses, has spearheaded Rancho San Miguel's expansion into sales Preparation and Consignment. Danny manages an experienced team to prepare horses to show themselves in the best possible way at auctions or private sale. His team transforms sale candidates with their expert training and grooming techniques to meet the needs of each individual horse. During 2022, Rancho San Miguel prepped 75 horses for four sales on the West Coast. Danny and his team were able to garner record proceeds for the Farm's clients in 2022 and are looking forward to further success in years to come.
Alongside Consignment Manager Danny Ramirez, Webber is spearheading Rancho San Miguel's expansion into sale preparation and consignment. In 2022, the farm prepared approximately 75 horses for four West Coast auctions and achieved a 96% clearance rate, led by a California-bred Maclean's Music colt who commanded $145,000 at the Fasig-Tipton California Fall Yearlings Sale.
After serving for five years on our team, Pancho stepped successfully into the role as Assistant Farm Manager last year. In that crucial role, he directs the day to day tasks for the team that cares for the horses. He coordinates with other managers and routinely assists with tasks relating to veterinary and farrier professionals. Pancho leads the effort to train the young horses once they are weaned from their Mothers. His team teaches them to walk, to be bathed and groomed and other tasks so they become good citizens, not afraid of humans and set them up for success. His attention to detail, his positive attitude and his reliability makes him a great asset for the Farm.
Gem Heist is by Street Cry (IRE), sire of at least 133 stakes winners including the quality Kentucky stallions Street Sense and Street Boss, as well as perhaps the two greatest race mares in recent memory: Zenyatta and Winx (AUS). He is the first foal of the millionaire mare Careless Jewel, by Tapit, who won 5 of her 7 starts including the Alabama Stakes-G1 and Delaware Oaks-G2 who is from a deep California female family.
His first foals raced in 2020. From very limited numbers, he has sired 2 winners.
Hector is our longest serving employee having lived and worked on the Farm for over 21 years. Hector is our Renaissance Man in that he knows much about a broad range of skills and tasks, all of which are critical to keep the facility functioning smoothly. Hector and his team maintain the pastures, buildings, homes, irrigation, septic, pens, roads, barns, equipment, electric-you name it! They do an outstanding job keeping the farm clean and safe for the horses and our staff. Best of all they are always willing to help everyone who needs support.
Jenny joined the Rancho San Miguel team in March 2022, along with her daughter, herd of broodmares and retirees, dogs, cats and rabbit. Jenny earned her Bachelors Degree in Animal Science as well as an MBA, from Oregon State University. After graduation, she spent several years working at farms and racetracks on the West Coast in such varied positions as groom, pony person, assistant trainer, tack store manager, media relations and turf writer.
For the past 17 years, she has managed Ten Broeck Farm in Ellenburg, Washington specializing in weanling to yearling pinhooks and rehab. She also owned and operated Windway Farm in Ellenburg for the last 15 years where she bred and raised a few foals each year, did sales prep, rehab, took care of retirees and retrained OTTBs.
She has been a member of the WTBOA board of trustees and sales committee while serving as Chairperson of the WTBOA sales committee since 2018.

Tom was raised on a farm and has been around Thoroughbreds his entire life. He purchased his first racehorse in 1984 and has been actively involved in the industry ever since. Nancy earned her degree in Animal Science at the University of California at Davis. After graduating, she managed an Appaloosa and Thoroughbred breeding farm in the 1980's, which is now Victory Rose Thoroughbreds.
Since purchasing the farm in April of 2000, the Clarks have transformed Rancho San Miguel into one of the leading stallion stations in California and the nation, investing in new pastures, barns, equipment, and housing for employees. These additions have allowed them to hire the most highly trained and skilled horsemen. As knowledgeable horse people and clients themselves, Tom and Nancy understand the importance of providing the best possible care.
