Dr. Mitchell Shaw D. - Founder

Dr. Mitchell Shaw D.D.S., P.L.L.C. of Restorative and Implant Dentistry of Long Island (RIDLI), grew up in North Bellmore and attended W. C. Mepham High School, where he was active in student government, civic organizations and interscholastic sports. As a pitcher on the baseball team, Dr. Shaw received All-Nassau County honors. He also co-captained the varsity basketball team. Dr. Shaw attended Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, where he was a four-year letterman on the varsity baseball team, served as an elected member of the Student Senate and continued his participation in various civic activities. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Tufts University. Upon graduation from Tufts University, Dr. Mitchell Shaw matriculated at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine as a member of the third graduating class. Dr. Shaw graduated with numerous scholastic Honors and was chosen by his classmates as Class Salutatorian, while maintaining his interest in student government and politics, as well as athletics. In the year following his General Practice Residency, Dr. Shaw split his time in the private practice of dentistry and administering a Federal grant disbursed through the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities investigating the availability of dental services for clients recently deinstitutionalized from the State's Developmental Centers.
