Christopher Reed, OD, is a talented optometrist at Scarbrough Family Eyecare in Traverse City and Beulah, Michigan. As a Traverse City native, Dr. Reed values his time serving his community and helping patients of all ages see the world clearly and without discomfort. In 2018, Dr. Reed graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana, with his degree in optometry. He uses his vast knowledge of optometry to teach his patients at Scarbrough Family Eyecare about the conditions that affect them and their available treatment options. At Scarbrough Family Eyecare, Dr. Reed frequently diagnoses conditions like glaucoma, conjunctivitis, and cataracts. He also treats various forms of myopia with high-quality eyeglasses and comfortable contact lenses. When he isn't informing patients about conditions affecting their eyes or improving their vision, Dr. Reed enjoys spending his free time with his spouse and their dog, Bear. He enjoys staying active with skiing, biking, running, backpacking, and sailing. Dr. Reed is a Traverse City native and a 2018 graduate of Indiana School of Optometry. Edward Scarbrough, OD, better known to his patients as "Dr. Ed," is an optometrist at Scarbrough Family Eyecare in Beulah and Traverse City, Michigan. In his more than 30 years of experience, patients of all ages have trusted him to thoroughly examine their eyes and treat conditions like glaucoma, dry eyes, and cataracts. Dr. Scarbrough values the relationships that he forms with each of his patients, giving them the tools to take control of their vision care inside and outside of his office. Dr. Scarbrough received his undergraduate degree from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, in 1985. He then moved to Bloomington, Indiana, where he graduated from Indiana University with his optometry degree in 1989. Today, Dr. Scarbrough is married to his high school sweetheart, Sandy. They've raised four children together and are now adjusting to life as empty-nesters. In his free time, he enjoys staying active with golf, cycling, and hunting. Dr. Scarbrough has loved practicing in Traverse City for over 30 years. He is native of Benzie County and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University. In his spare time, Dr. Ed enjoys pickleball, cycling, golfing and making maple syrup.
