Smith Bros. Farms is a family-owned and operated farm headquartered in the Salem community of Rutherford County, Tennessee. Owned by brothers Chip and Bubba Smith, it is a growing operation that is built on trust and relationships with the landowners... Stewardship of the land is very important to our farm. We want to ensure a healthy and productive environment for the next generation. Erosion and drainage is controlled by adding tile, waterways, dry dams, or other structures in the field where they are needed. We use no-till in order to minimize soil erosion of fields at risk of soil loss and tillage is minimized. We treat all of our rented acres as if we owned them and continually work to improve them... Our crops are diligently scouted for weed, insect, disease, or other problems. We have begun to collect harvest yield maps to help us make necessary decisions for the following years.
