Frances Webster - CEO, Founder

Frances co-founded Walrus in 2005. Prior to Walrus, Frances was the New Business Director at Mad Dogs & Englishmen. She spent four years at Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, where she rose to Head of New Business. Prior to that she was at Saatchi & Saatchi working on General Mills, and began her career at Toolbox. A graduate of the University of the South (Sewanee), Frances sits on the Advisory Board for the Babson Center of Excellence at Sewanee, and is also a member of the 4A's New Business Committee. Deacon co-founded Walrus in 2005. He spent most of his career at Mad Dogs & Englishmen where he began as a junior copywriter. During his 11 year tenure he opened and led their San Francisco office, and eventually became Partner and Chief Creative Officer of the New York headquarters. He has had his work appear in all the major industry shows including ADC Young Guns, D&AD, the One Show, Cannes, Communication Arts and the Effies. He is a graduate of the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. He is extremely pale.

Jeff Hale

As Head of Design, Jeff exploits his deep knowledge of niche manufacturers, forgotten techniques, and new technologies to make design tangible for our clients. Prior to Walrus, Jeff operated his own design consultancy in Portland, Oregon, where he partnered with brands including Nike, Starbucks, Tabasco, General Mills, NASCAR, ESPN, MTV, Giorgio Armani, The Islands of the Bahamas, and Edrington International. His award-winning work spans a range of disciplines including packaging, brand identity, naming, signage and wayfinding, editorial, and illustration. Jeff also taught design and typography at RISD, Brown University, Rhode Island College, Portland State University, and PNCA.

Jillian Dresser

Job Titles:

Jillian began her career as a junior art director at Walrus in 2008 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin and VCU Brandcenter. After four years, she flew the coop to work as a creative director at Silver + Partners and many NYC agencies thereafter, including Droga5, Barton F. Graf, FCB, and 72andSunny. Now she's back at Walrus overseeing or working on creative for the agency. Her accomplishments include creating a Super Bowl spot, winning a few advertising awards, and surviving 22 years of Wisconsin winters.

Olivia Johansson

Job Titles:
  • Head of Production
Olivia is the Head of Production at Walrus where she oversees the production department and leads the production of all campaigns across all media. Prior to joining Walrus Olivia was at a production company and collaborated with brands such as Dove, Swell, Clinique and Honda. Olivia is originally from Sweden where she studied Motion Creative at the Digital Creative and Business school Hyper Island, Stockholm. She refers to Swedish Fish as just "fish", her favorite restaurant in NYC is the IKEA cafeteria and she learned everything she knows about American culture from repeated watching of the show Friends.

Paula Beer Levine

Paula oversees the account department and sets the direction for client services, promoting collaboration across all departments to ensure each campaign is on-strategy and results-oriented. Prior to Walrus, she was a Partner and the Director of Account Management at Mad Dogs & Englishmen. She began her advertising career at Mascola Advertising and is a graduate of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT.
