Amelia Ireland

Job Titles:

Amelia studied history with a year abroad at the University of Warwick, before embarking on a career in the charity sector where she has held various roles in community fundraising and volunteer management. She is also an Ambassador for the Young Trustees Movement, having first become a trustee at the age of 22. Amelia is passionate about the potential of the third sector to achieve transformational change and its need to attract and retain new and diverse talent. She brings her insights as a young person working in the sector to the Charityworks board, which she joined in 2022.

Amy Kimmins

Job Titles:
  • Development Manager
Amy is an experienced marketer holding previous roles in the private and university sectors, as well as working as a consultant. Amy is Koreo's Development Manager and is responsible for promoting Charityworks in a B2B capacity across the sector, and for securing talent for the programme. She holds Master's in Management with Marketing from Lancaster University Management School.

Andrew Hall

Job Titles:

Andrew brings over 30 years' senior experience of professional membership bodies in the health and legal field and has garnered much respect for his measured and insightful approach. His achievements focus on strategic development and growth supported by extensive networking in the UK and overseas. With a strong understanding of the combined impact of leadership, culture and governance, Andrew continues to work in a number of roles in the not-for-profit sector. He joined the Board and as Chair of Charityworks in 2021.

Ashanya Griffiths

Job Titles:
  • Learning Experience Manager at Koreo
Ashanya works as a Learning Experience Manager at Koreo. She leads the development and facilitation of the Charityworks programme, managing operational delivery and working to support trainees and hiring managers throughout their year.

Ben Dewhirst

Job Titles:

Ben works across a varied portfolio of projects at Koreo specialising in entry routes into and through social change, focusing on coaching and leadership skills. He is a coach and facilitator supporting delivery of the Charityworks programme.

Craig Pemblington

Job Titles:

Craig works as Head of Business Development at Koreo, responsible for the strategic development and delivery of national campaigns for our talent programmes, including Charityworks. Craig has a particular passion around social inclusion and is responsible for the programme's radical inclusion strategy for recruitment. He holds responsibility for the approach to growing partner relationships with charities to access talent on the programme.

Dan Bishop

Dan has held varied charity operations and finance roles since 2017 as well as voluntary governance roles, including in the NHS. He is passionate about helping the next generation of charity leaders start their careers well, and develop the skills, experience, and confidence necessary to undertake their roles. Dan brings skills in operational management and financial governance as well as experience in service development. Dan is currently Head of Operations and Services at Association of Chairs, who have been a host organisation for the Charityworks graduate programme. He joined the Charityworks board in September 2022

Des Pullen

Job Titles:

Des Pullen's corporate career spanned some 38 years, taking in senior roles in HR, General Management and Operations. Latterly, he was the Group HR Director for Associated British Foods plc, before retiring from full time executive life at the end of 2019. Since then, he has been a NED in both the Higher Education and Health sectors, and is now a Trustee at the Brighton-based charity, Concordia, which focuses on the development of young people through its Seasonal Workers programme, International Volunteering, Concordia Youth Action and Emotional Wellbeing programmes. He chairs the HR and Operations Committee. He is also an independent committee member at the Access To Justice Foundation.

Diana Galloway

Diana is a Learning Experience Manager at Koreo with a background in supporting young leaders with their learning and development. She is a lead facilitator on the Charityworks development programme.

Ethny Childs

Job Titles:
  • Trustee
Ethny obtained a BSc in Biology from Imperial College London and went on to join the 2017 Charityworks graduate scheme which she completed with special commendations. For her Charityworks placement she worked at the Dunhill Medical Trust, a charitable foundation that funds age-related research. She went on to work at the organisation for a further two years, before leaving to pursue a job in the environment sector. Since then, she has worked at the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES), a professional body for environmental science professionals. She holds the role of Communities and Partnership Lead and is a member of the senior management team. Through her role at the IES, she sits on a number of boards and steering groups, including the Specialist in Land Condition, Institute of Air Quality Management and Professional Bodies Climate Action Charter. Having only ever worked in the charity sector, Ethny is passionate about supporting future leaders and improving equity, diversity and inclusion in the sector.

Flinn Andreae

Flinn is part of the Koreo Development Team, coordinating work across business development and recruitment activities. On Charityworks he manages our partner engagement work, data analysis and is the main point of contact for prospective candidates.

Jordan Rolfe

Job Titles:

  • Senior Consultant at Koreo
Jordan is a Senior Consultant at Koreo working to design and deliver projects and programmes across Koreo's portfolios. He is the Charityworks Programme Director. Jordan joined Koreo in 2014 and is an alumni of the Charityworks programme himself.

Laura Millar

Job Titles:

Laura joined the Charityworks Board in April 2023 and is currently HR Manager at Charity Finance Group, where she has held various roles over the past eight years. Previously, she worked at the Department for Education as an Executive Officer and before this she completed an internship with the Association of Graduate Recruiters working on a project to improve social mobility for graduates. She graduated from the University of Surrey with a degree in Sociology. Charity Finance Group has previously been a host organisation for the Charityworks graduate trainee programme. Laura is passionate about improving the recruitment processes and culture within charities.

Lydia Holroyd

Lydia brings personal experience of the Charityworks programme, having been a trainee in the 2019 cohort. Since completing a degree in Geography at the University of Exeter, Lydia has enjoyed five years in the charity sector across various spaces including homelessness, child health and international development. She currently works in Programmes at CBM Global Disability Inclusion, which seeks to break the cycle of poverty and disability. Lydia is
passionate about empowering people to fulfil their potential, and the importance of creating a network of innovative, resilient and compassionate leaders to sustain and future-proof the charity sector. She joined the Charityworks Board in April 2023.

Rachel Whale - CEO, Founder

Rachel is a social entrepreneur and activist with 20-years experience working in and with the social sector. Founding Director of Koreo, she has held leadership roles in a range of organisations dedicated to social impact, led consultancy projects across sectors in the UK and internationally, and founded several ventures dedicated to mobilising talent for social change.
