In the fight against autism, there are many unsung heroes who have contributed to the advancement of research and best practice policies. Mrs. Smith, A long-time Social worker for the New York City Department of Social Services, is one such person. This Stipend, established in her honor, is directed towards assisting families with loved ones on the Autism Spectrum. The objective of the Stipend is to make resources available to those families, and by extension, those diagnosed with one of the families of diagnoses that comprise autism, who might not otherwise be able to access them.
