BEEHIVE ACADEMY - Key Persons
A Pew Research Center study shows that nearly 70% of STEM majors in the U.S. are white. While more than half of STEM degrees are earned by women, 85% of those degrees are in the health care field, not engineering, math or technology.
Carla Coleman (school counselor, 7th-12th grades last name J-Z) taught Spanish and Heal th Education for several years before becoming a school counselor, which she loves. She is excited to be a counselor at Beehive Science & Technol
ogy Academy. She is very impressed with the students and staff and all the potential that lies within our school. Ms. Coleman values education and looks forward to helping students through their educational journey. She teaches the seventh grade characte r education class. In her free time, she enjoys music, movies, sports, travel, family time, yard work, and experiencing the different cultures people bring.

Heather Richardson (elementary school counselor, K - 5th) received her masters of education in school counseling from Utah State University. Before joining Beehive Academy, sh
e completed her counseling practicum at Lehi Junior High School and worked as an academic advisor at a K - 12th grade charter school. This is her second year as the elementary school counselor at Beehive Academy. In addition to her counseling duties, she is also the elementary Hope Squad advisor. Mrs. Richardson enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures, gardening and spending time with her family.
Jennifer Swan (school counselor, 7th-12th grades last name A-I) has been a school counselor for 17 years in a variety of settings. She graduated in Hum an Development & Family Studies at the University of Utah, and in School Counseling at Utah State University. She loves developing a positive relationship with each student and supporting them in their goals. In addition to counseling duties at Beehive, Mrs. Swan teaches a senior class called College and Career Preparation. She is the Hope Squad advisor, a CMLP advisor and Pride Club co-advisor. When she isn't at school, Mrs. Swan enjoys nature, especially birding, and reading.
Megan Anderson (therapist K-12) Megan is the newest addition to our team! She is a therapist from Hopeful Beginnings who is here at Beehive twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Megan recently moved to Utah from St. Louis, Missouri where she worked for 3 years as a school therapist, seeing K-12 students. She is excited to continue that work at Beehive! Megan likes to hike, ski, read, listen to podcasts, hangout with friends and family, play soccer, try new restaurants, and cheer on the St. Louis Blues, Cardinals, and (soon) STL City Soccer Club.
