BUFFALO MUSIC HALL OF FAME

The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, Inc., (BMHOF) is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization founded in 1983. The BMHOF was created through the region's musicians and music history for the cultural enhancement and enrichment of the community. The BMHOF encompasses a population of over 1.5 million people from all five counties of Western New York including Erie, Niagara, Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties... The history of Buffalo Music is as much about the people who have become famous as it is about the continuing contribution to the rich, vibrant culture of Western New York. The immigrants who built the area brought their native music, and through years of blending these cultures, the Buffalo Sound emerged. From the ethnic music of the settlers, to the boom of tavern music in the Erie Canal days, to the rich history of Vaudeville, and to our number one DJ; George "Hound Dog" Lorenz, who was based out of Buffalo and was the first in the world to establish a "rock & roll" station,..
