The Center on Representative Government is a non-partisan, educational institution that has developed an extensive array of free civics education resources and activities to improve the public's understanding of the role of representative government, to strengthen civic engagement, and to teach the skills that are essential to sustaining our form of representative democracy... The Center is a nonpartisan educational institution that strives to help citizens understand how to be effective in bringing their concerns and requests to their elected officials, so that actions taken by the government will more truly reflect the "consent of the governed."... Our mission, as set forth by Indiana Congressman Lee Hamilton, is to help prepare the next generation of citizens by working with educators to create programs that inform, inspire, and motivate students and to encourage civic participation to seek solutions to the many challenges that confront our nation today.
