I currently live in the beautiful, Southern city of Homewood, AL with my husband, William. We share our lives with two toddlers, two senior dogs, and two rambunctious kitties. To say our home is hectic would be an understatement... I started Eat Joyfully while in graduate school. I was an Alabama woman out in California training as a Latinist in one of the best schools in the country. My mom was back home, dealing with a serious health scare. My friends were scattered around the country, and I felt very much overwhelmed and alone. I found a great deal of comfort in making familiar foods from home and exploring my culinary roots through a tiny, Silicon Valley kitchen... This blog began as a way to cope with a very tough time in my life and has since become a fun catalogue for interesting recipes, experiments, and memories. All the recipes I share are vegetarian, and, now that I am a parent, I am also trying to include tips on how to cook with young children every now and then.
