David is responsible for deal analysis and acquisitions, as well as project planning and development at B2K Development, leveraging his extensive experience across a variety of market sectors. David's strong work ethic combined with his artistic eye serve him well in meeting the demands and challenges of strategic real estate development. Under David's purview is a steady pipeline of projects in various stages of development, including thousands of residential and senior living units, as well as varied mixed-use and commercial properties.
David has vast experience in land use, project underwriting, product design, and project coordination, as well as various aspects of pre-construction and sales. Leading the development division to uncover new opportunities through careful site selection and rigorous financial analysis, and with a keen understanding of zoning and municipal approvals, David skillfully navigates the development process delivering shovel-ready projects. Through managing teams of professionals responsible for project conception and design development, David adds a unique style and class to elevate B2K Development's various product lines.
David has been recognized as one of Commercial Property Executive's Stars to Watch in 2019, and he was honored as one of Long Island Business News 40 Under 40. David earned his BA in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
CPE's Stars to Watch 2019: Assisted Living Leader David Burman was probably destined for a real estate career. "From day one, since I was a kid, I always wanted to do this," he said. These days, Burman helps run B2K Development, a fast-growing development firm that currently has 12 projects valued at more than $1 billion under construction, with another 10 projects on the horizon for 2019-2020. Working alongside his father, Burman oversees all aspects of strategic development, including deal analysis, site selection, land acquisitions, project planning, municipal approvals, architecture, design and pre-construction. For Burman, a partner at the firm since 2003, the appeal of real estate is all about creating things. "I love designing the buildings; I like fitting square pegs in round holes," he said. "It's creating something from nothing, taking a vacant piece of land and repurposing it into something that helps people."

Jonathan began his career at B2K Development working in the field and on job sites, providing him invaluable hands-on experience across a vast array of construction types. Jonathan has focused on all aspects of the construction cycle, developing a wide range of knowledge and expertise. While gleaning valuable insights over decades and developing an understanding of the fine details of the building trade, Jonathan has honed his skills, ultimately mastering field management, as well as the overall operations of B2K Development's Construction Division for which he is responsible today.
Jonathan has been instrumental in the growth of the B2K Development's Construction Division, meticulously building an in-house team of seasoned and skilled professionals and leading them to a myriad of successes. His decisiveness and foresight are crucial to maintaining productivity in both new construction and rehabilitation projects. With nearly half a billion dollars in active projects under his management, Jonathan consistently delivers on time and on budget, managing costs while also meeting or exceeding expectations when it comes to delivering quality products.
Jonathan is an active member of the community and involved in many organizations, such as Builder Director of the Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI) and an Officer and Director of Long Island Home Builders Care (LIHBC). For LIHBC, Jonathan has taken the lead on fundraising events, served on the annual Charitable Walk committee, chaired the annual golf outing, and directed special projects, such as renovating Long Island homes for families in need. Cycle for Survival, which supports rare cancer research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, is particularly close to Jonathan's heart. He actively supports the charity and has been instrumental in its fundraising.
Jonathan earned his BA in Regional Development and Business Management from the University of Arizona.
Jonathan Weiss knew he wanted to be a builder his whole life. As a young boy, he spent most Saturdays with his grandfather on construction sites. To date, he has led over 30 projects and has been involved with over a billion dollars of new construction. Jan brings a distinct style and personal sensitivity to B2K Development's leadership, its real estate portfolio, and various real estate related businesses. His vast experience and unique insight allow him to spot hidden opportunities, niche demands within the marketplace, and keenly anticipate market trends that may otherwise go unseen. This perception has paid off by creating tremendous value for partners and stakeholders in the form of adaptive reuses of underutilized properties, outstanding developments, diverse communities, and vast portfolios.
With an MBA in Finance from Syracuse University, Jan started his career as a CPA. Eventually, he was drawn to real estate and began purchasing foreclosed and corporate-surplus properties, and then transformed them into millions of feet of multi-tenanted buildings. Decades later, he added residential real estate to his repertoire, leading the B2K Development foray into a portfolio of thousands of diversified residences. Perhaps most notably, Jan significantly raised the bar in the assisted living industry with The Bristal Assisted Living communities, bringing high-quality, care-focused, amenity-filled communities to the market. Today The Bristal remains the preeminent brand in the industry.
Jan is actively involved in both business and philanthropic communities, having held many board positions, contributing his time and resources to causes he is passionate about, and being recognized extensively for his leadership. Currently, he serves on the board of directors of the United Nations Development Corporation, St. Francis Hospital, the Community Development Corporation of Long Island, and the Advisory Board of the Nassau County Police Department Foundation. Jan has recently been recognized as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014, and in 2015 was inducted into the Long Island Business News Hall of Fame.

He founded Engel Burman with Sydney Engel and Steven Krieger. New officers and board members for Long Island Builders Institute: The Long Island Builders Institute, the state's largest trade association for residential builders and related businesses, announced a new roster of officers and board members for 2022. Tritec Real Estate principal Jim Coughlan has been named LIBI's chairman of the board and Steven Krieger of B2K Development becomes president.
