Originally established in 1974, Figure 8 Boutique Limited was created by Mrs. Madeleine Simard, an entrepreneurial woman who started in a simple way by selling skates in her home basement. Shortly after starting the business, assessing the reaction of her customers and wanting to meet local by-law restrictions, Mrs. Simard moved her growing business to a commercial site. Bank loan in hand she pressed forward to create Ottawa's first store dedicated to servicing the figure skating community's needs... Today, after more than eight expansions and three changes of address, Figure 8 has adapted itself to its ever-changing market to be one of Canada's leading skate retailers. Never changing their focus from figure skating, Figure8 has expanded their in-stock lines to cover the full range of leading skate and skate apparel manufacturers such as: Jackson, Jerry's, Mondor, Motionwear, and Wilson - to name a few!...
