Bruno Ribeiro began his career as a Graduate Teaching Associate at Ohio State University, then started as an Assistant Professor at Cal Poly in 2012. He earned an MBA in Marketing from Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Design, Industrial Design from Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial

Hocheol Yang is an assistant professor in the GrC Department at Cal Poly. He earned his Ph.D. in Media and Communication from Temple University's Klein College in 2020 and taught Advanced Video Edition, Mobile Media, Media and Children, and Media and Cultural Difference. At Cal Poly GrC, he teaches introductory and advanced courses in motion graphics and user experience design and evaluation, with emphases on VR/AR, HCI, UX, media psychology, experimental usability testing, eye-tracking, educational content production, and display and imaging technology.
Ivan Bradley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Humboldt State University and an M.Ed., in Computers in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ivan's favorite part about teaching is sharing what he knows about graphic communication, the design and technical skills. This leads the students to create designs and products that surprise themselves with what they can accomplish.
Ivan brings his design talents, BA in Art, along with passion to develop skills using technology and software, merging the two together in his creative endeavors, as well as teaching. Bradley retired in June 2021 after 30 years as a high school Career Technical Education teacher, recently at Atascadero High School, instructing Graphic Communications, Computer Animation, Video Production, and his favorite course, Portfolio Development that he taught the last three years. The course is a capstone course for the CTE Design, Visual, and Media Arts career pathway at the school. He also has developed the curriculum, assignments, and the structure of several courses that are listed on CTE Online, which is an online depository education resource website. He has been honored as School District Teacher of the Year by two different districts among other honors.
Lorraine was the designer for the More than a Motto book which was published a few years ago, it was a four-year process and she loved every minute of it, even the late night and weekends! She was interested to see all the different ways Cal Poly integrates ‘Learn By Doing' in every department and discipline. Working with three other faculty members from different colleges along with a team of students to document and showcase our university was one of the most rewarding projects for her. She also taught GrC 377 in London through Cal Poly's Study Abroad program during the summer of 2018. Donegan has spoken at conferences in 5 states on issues of design and production. She was honored in 2006 as Educator of the Year award with the Electronic Document Systems Foundations

Michael worked for a number of years as a freelance designer before deciding to earn his Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication with a concentration in Design Reproduction Technology at Cal Poly. After graduation, Michael worked in various creative positions, from a Junior Graphic Designer with J. Carroll Screenprinting, to a Senior Layout Design Editor with 13 Stars Media Co. in Atascadero, Ca.
In addition to teaching labs for GrC 337: Consumer Packaging, Michael currently works as a Graphic Communication Specialist for Univeristy Development and Alumni Engagement, here on campus. In this role, he primarily designs print and digital media focused on engaging with Cal Poly's proud alumni as well as future university projects.
Outside of work, Michael still takes on freelance design projects occasionally, but mostly enjoys playing disc golf, bike riding, snowboarding, hiking, and taking advantage of all of the perks of living on the Central Coast.

Michelle Godfrey has a passion for helping others, striving to be approachable, and is willing to meet the needs of our students, faculty and staff. Her favorite part of the Graphic Communication department is working with students and getting to know them as they grow during the four years in our program. The biggest highlight of her career has been encouraging students to meet the challenges they are facing and see them return with a smile after they have conquered them.
Nick earned a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication with a concentration in Graphics for Packaging at Cal Poly. He spent the first few years after graduation working as the Prepress Manager for a label printing company in the Bay Area. He created proofs for customers, set up press-ready files for both flexo and digitally printed narrow web labels, and was heavily involved in flexo platemaking. As someone who's not much of a designer, his favorite part of the job was looking at all the beautiful designs customers would send in for printing. Nick is excited to be back at Cal Poly sharing his industry knowledge with students.

Steve Standifer is the Equipment Technician for Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department, where he combines technical expertise with a passion for innovation. Steve has been instrumental in maintaining and optimizing the department's diverse portfolio of advanced printing and production systems, including digital and UV printers, laser cutters, and wide-format equipment. He manages facility planning, preventive equipment maintenance, and inventory control, ensuring seamless integration of state-of-the-art technologies into instructional and operational workflows. As a lecturer for the GRC 400 course, Steve inspires students by blending hands-on technical instruction with insights from his extensive industry experience. He also provides support and guidance to the amazing students operating University Graphic Systems.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Steve has established himself as a leader in IT systems management, project planning, and technical troubleshooting. His expertise includes systems integration, network administration, and multimedia production. Steve's dedication to fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking environment supports the department's mission to prepare students with industry-ready skills. Whether advancing technological capabilities or mentoring students and faculty, Steve is committed to driving innovation and excellence at Cal Poly.
Xiaoying Rong earned her Bachelor of Engineering from Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, a Master of Business Administration from Beijing Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Paper Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Printing from Western Michigan University. Her favorite part about teaching is interacting with students, learning with and from them. Her biggest highlight of her career was becoming a professor.
