Dr. Anil D'Cruz

Dr. D'Cruz MS, DNB, FRCS (Hon) is Director Oncology Apollo Hospitals and Consultant surgeon at Bombay Hospital. He is well-recognised as a global leader, clinician, researcher and teacher in Head and Neck Oncology. He was Director of Tata Memorial Hospital and Chief of Head Neck Services with over 33 years' experience in the field of cancer. Dr. Dcruz is currently President (2020-2022) of the Union International for Cancer Control Geneva. UICC is the largest cancer organisation globally committed to the cause of cancer control with over 1200 member organisations across 171 countries. He is the first Indian to be elected to this position. In recognition of his professional standing in the field of surgery and oncology he was awarded the Honorary FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons London. Dr. Dcruz has held leadership positions & is on the board of numerous professional organisations universities, research organisations and cancer institutions across the country and abroad. He has been President of the Foundation of head neck Oncology India, President of the Asian Society of Head Neck Oncology and current President of the Indian Society of thyroid Surgeons, He is an avid researcher& his landmark contribution in management of neck in early oral cancers awarded the plenary at the American society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2015 and subsequently published in the New England journal of Medicine. This is also the first surgical head neck trial globally to be awarded an ASCO plenary and publication in the New England Journal. Findings of his trial laid to rest a long standing debate of over 5 decades and is now a benchmark and incorporated in management guidelines establishing neck treatment as standard of care in oral cancers. He worked on research in the use of curcumin and was part of a project to develop and validate molecular cytogenetic studies/Proteomics in oral cancers, results of which were filed for a patent. Dr. D'Cruz has more than 500 peer-reviewed publications and chapters to his name and is a member of the Editorial Board of many reputed national and international journals. He has delivered more than 1000 invited lectures and nearly a 150 named lectures, key note and orations both nationally and internationally. He has also been a special invitee to over 100 conferences nationally and internationally demonstrating head and neck surgery. Dr. Dcruz's special areas on interest are oral \ laryngeal cancers, thyroid, parathyroid, salivary glands and neck diseases. Dr. D'Cruz is a much sought after teacher and was instrumental in initiating the super speciality training course in Head Neck Oncology for the first time in India. In addition to his commitment to service research and education in the field of cancer. Dr. Dcruz is committed to cancer control, prevention, early detection and equity/access to cancer care. He has been active in tobacco control serving as Secretary of the Action Control on Tobacco an NGO committed to this cause. In addition as board member of the Union International for Cancer Control Geneva (UICC) he has been active in advocacy, convening and capacity building in the field of cancer across the globe for over a decade.

Dr. Charbel Saade

Professor Charbel Saade graduated from the University of Sydney in radiography, Masters in CT and MRI, and a PhD in contrast media delivery. Charbel is currently working as an Adjunct Professor of Medical Imaging Sciences at the University of College in Cork, Ireland, American University of Beirut, Lebanon and University of Canberra, Australia and head of Guerbet Asia Pacific clinical education and application. He is a frequent lecturer in international congresses like RSNA, ECR, ASOR and Arab Health. Charbel has co-authored more than 100 original papers with more than 120 abstracts presented. Charbel has a strong clinical background in the field of X-ray, CT and MRI. Charbel is also a journal reviewer in more than 10 journals and was the former editor in chief in the international journal of medical imaging and editorial board member at the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences. Charbel is the owner and convener of MDCT.com.au and has been teaching radiographers and radiologists for more than 20 years with the latest tips and tricks to reduce contrast media administration and radiation dose whilst maintaining image quality in CT and MRI. Charbel is heavily supported by industry as an independent Medical Imaging Expert who believes the truth lies in the patient by delivering quality imaging first time, every time!

Dr. Hatem Faraj Al Ameri

Dr. Hatem Faraj Al Ameri is the Manager of the of Medical Education and Examination at Department of Health Abu Dhabi, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the United Arab Emirates University. Through his work at the Department of Health, Dr. Al Ameri has: Co-founded the TANSEEQ program, the first centralized Emirate-wide residency match program and the first international partnership with the NRMP-I, Pioneered the signing of the ACGME-I/HAAD Memorandum of Understanding Overseen the development of multiple regulatory standards in Graduate Medical Education (GME). Dr. Al Ameri completed his Pulmonary Medicine fellowship training and Internal Medicine residency training in Canada from McGill University in 2002 and 2000 respectively. Mirza Al Sayegh was born in Dubai, UAE, attended private tuition at his father's school in the early days and in 1957 he attended the first UAE Government School in Dubai for his primary education years. After completing his secondary education at Dubai Secondary School, in 1967 Mirza was enrolled in the University of Jordan, and graduated with a BA in Business Administration in 1971. In 1971, Mirza joined a diplomatic course in preparation for the Federal announcement, as candidate for the UAE overseas diplomatic corps. He was then appointed as Third Secretary and Head of Information and Translation Section, Political Dept. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abu Dhabi in February 1972. In January 1973, Mirza was elected as Third Secretary, and subsequently First Secretary, at the UAE Embassy in New Delhi, India. In 1974 he became Head of UAE Consular Mission in Bombay, India, as a Counsellor. During his stay in India, Mirza was enrolled at the University of Delhi to study a Masters Degree in Political Science. In 1976, Mirza was appointed as Counsellor and Minister Plenipotentiary (Charge d'affairs) UAE Embassy, London. In 1979 he represented the UAE on the Political Committee of the United National General Assembly session. In 1980, he spent two years studying for a Masters Degree in International Relations at the University of Southern California (UK Programme) London. In December 1983, Mirza took charge of investment affairs of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Government of Dubai. He has been appointed to the Board, as Chairman or Deputy Chairman, of numerous companies both in UAE and overseas. These companies under his charge cover a wide spectrum of banks, commercial, charitable, educational and civil society organisations.

Professor Ashraf Hatem was the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt (SCU) from 2012 to 2017. During his role as a Secretary General for the SCU, Professor Hatem led a reform team that worked with other regulatory bodies and universities to upgrade and reform the higher education system via initiating an independent body for its financing and regulation in the name of HERFA (The Higher Education Regulatory and Funding Agency). He was a member of the Supreme Council of PreUniversity Education, which initiated the reform plan for Egypt's new system of school education. Professor Hatem is a member of the Higher Committee on Viruses at the Supreme Council of University Hospitals and the Higher Committee on Grievances at the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. He is also a member of the Board of the Trustees at Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 and the University of Hertfordshire in Egypt. He was formerly a Consultant to the Minister of Higher Education for Universities Hospitals. Professor Hatem was also a Consultant to the Minister of Health in the area of Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis. He has been chairing the Board of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt since 2013. Professor Hatem was the Director General of Cairo University Hospitals (2005-2011). He was the Director of the Mubarak-Kohl Institute of Nursing. He is a member of numerous professional societies and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the Royal Society of Medicine. Professor Ashraf Hatem acts as a reviewer for Chest in the official journal of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a Professor of Pulmonary Medicine at Kasr Al Aini Faculty of Medicine in Cairo University and is a holder of MD degree in Chest Diseases, M. Sc. in CHEST and MB, Bch from Cairo University Egypt and earned his E.C.F.M.G. from the USA.

John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, the Medical College of Wisconsin's (MCW) President and CEO, assumed the position as MCW's sixth President on July 1, 2010. He was previously Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). As MCW's President and CEO, Dr. Raymond leads Wisconsin's only private medical school with an operating budget of more than $1.2 billion. More than one half of Wisconsin physicians is an alumnus of MCW. With approximately 6,700 faculty and staff members, MCW is the seventh largest private employer in Metro Milwaukee. Dr. Raymond is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County and was co-chair of the 2020 United Way Campaign. He also serves on the Board of Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin's Blood Research Institute. His professional interests includes the mechanism, prevention and treatment of liver cancer recurrence and metastases, and precision cancer research including immunotherapy. Prof. Kuang has published more than 100 original articles on Ann Oncol, Nat Commun, Hepatology, Radiology, and Clin Cancer Res in recent years. He has achieved 10 major grants from the government, including National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China in 2018, the most important grant for Chinese physicians. Today, Prof. Kuang is one of the leading experts in the field of tumor ablation in China. He was recently honored with1st prize at the 2019 Guangdong Province Medical Science Awards, for his contribution in precise ablation against liver cancer metastasis and recurrence. He is faculty of ECIO and APCIO since 2009, and chairman or vice chairman of many medical associations in China. She also serves as member of the assessor recognition team for the WFME. At the Regional level; Prof. Badrawi is the main founder and currently the president of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE). She disseminated the culture of Quality Assurance in Higher Education at Regional and National levels.
