Charles Edward McBride, III

Dr. McBride joined Harbin Clinic in 2015. Prior to joining Harbin Clinic, Dr. McBride served as vice president of clinical services for Summit Strategic Solutions in Knoxville, Tennessee. Before joining Summit, Dr. McBride was with Holston Medical Group in Kingsport, Tennessee, and Floyd Primary Care in Rome. Dr. McBride attended Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee, and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed an internship and residency at Carilion Health Systems in Roanoke, Virginia, and earned an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. At Summit, Dr. McBride was responsible for clinical oversight of care coordination, health education, patient experience, quality reporting and improvement, and direct supervision of six regional medical directors. Dr. McBride has served on the Board of Directors for the East Tennessee Health Information Network and as a delegate to the Tennessee Medical Association. Nationally, Dr. McBride serves as a member of the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

Dr. Robert Harbin

Dr. Robert Harbin died in 1939, and Dr. Will suffered a fatal heart attack in his office at the Harbin Hospital on November 5, 1942.

Dr. W. R. Harbin

Dr. W. R. Harbin's second son, Robert Maxwell Harbin, Sr., M.D. (1864 -1939), was educated at the University of Georgia and the Bellevue Medical College of New York City. He returned to practice with his father in Calhoun in 1888. In 1894, Robert Maxwell Harbin, Sr., M.D., moved to Rome to set up practice. In 1897, he invited his younger brother to join his practice.

Dr. Will Harbin

William Pickens Harbin, M.D., was actually the first Harbin doctor to be born in Georgia (on October 11, 1872, at his father's farm in Gordon County). He received an A.B. degree from the University of Georgia in 1894 and a Medical Doctorate from Bellevue Hospital Medical College of New York City in 1897. Dr. Will Harbin distinguished himself as a surgeon by performing many first-time procedures in Floyd County, including the first Caesarean section, blood matching, blood transfusion, and goiter operation. Harbin Hospital bought the first X-ray machine ever owned in Rome and made the first X-ray pictures, including the first dental films.

Kenneth F. Davis - Chairman, President

Dr. Davis joined Harbin Clinic as a general surgeon in 1986. During his 14-year practice, he served on the Board of the American College of Surgeons and the Harbin Clinic Board of Directors. He was elected chairman of the Medical Evaluations Committee at Floyd Medical Center, and Chief of Surgery at Redmond Regional Medical Center. After retiring from his general surgery practice in 2000, he became the Chief Executive Officer and President of Harbin Clinic in 2002. Dr. Davis retired as President and CEO in 2015 and now serves as the Chairman of the Board. Prior to Harbin Clinic, Dr. Davis attended Darlington School, University of Georgia, and completed his medical doctorate at Emory University, serving as chief resident during his General Surgery residency at Emory University Hospital. In addition to his career in the medical field, Davis has business partnerships with Hardy Realty, Lavender Mountain Hardware, Jordan Davis Partners (medical consulting), Adams Project Management, Heritage First Bank, Hydrodynamics, Inc., and The Georgia Land Trust. Dr. Davis and his wife, Laura Harbin Davis, reside in Rome, GA.

Tom Diehl - CFO

In 1998, Tom Diehl joined Harbin Clinic as comptroller. He served in this role until 2003 when he became the chief financial officer. Before Harbin Clinic, Diehl worked as comptroller at Carolina Primary Care in Columbia, SC and audit manager at Ernst & Young in Charleston, WV. Diehl has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and a graduate of Leadership Rome XIX.

Pitts joined Harbin Clinic in 1987 as an ophthalmology surgical nurse. She has served in various leadership positions during her tenure with Harbin Clinic, including as cardiac rehab manager, cardiovascular division manager, best practices development director, director of operations of satellite offices, senior director of healthcare processes and outcomes, and most recently, Chief Quality Officer. She earned an associate's degree in nursing from Floyd Junior College (Georgia Highlands College), a bachelor's degree in business administration from Shorter University, and a master's degree in business administration from Troy University.
