Alexus Breazeale

Alexus is one of our dental assistants. She was born and raised in Anderson and graduated from Tri-County Technical College. Alexus has been a dental assistant at our office since 2019. She chose to be a dental assistant because she enjoys helping people reach their goal of a healthier and better-looking smile. When asked what it was like to work at Guffee Dental each day, she responded, "It is truly a blessing to work here every day. Everyone pitches in to try to make the day run as smooth as possible, even the doctors on super busy days. Even though we are a fast-paced office, we try to give a calm and relaxing experience to each patient. I could not imagine working anywhere else." One of Alexus' bucket list items is to travel to every state in the U.S.

Ashley Long

Job Titles:
  • Dental Hygienist
Ashley has been a dental hygienist since 2008. She was born and raised in Iva and is married and has a stepson. Ashley has known since the 8th grade that she wanted to become a hygienist. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, decorating her home for different seasons, attending her church, and beach and mountain getaways. When asked what she does to make patients feel more comfortable, she responded "I give words of encouragement, always ask the patient if they are ok, I try to warn a patient if something may hurt so they expect it. Sometimes giving a patient a detailed description of a procedure, it helps them to know what's coming up so there aren't any surprises. Just being kind and patient with a smile goes a long way!" One of Ashley's bucket list items is to travel out west with her husband.

Candice White

Candice has been a hygienist since 2004. She chose her career in health care because she is passionate about helping others. As a hygienist she enjoys having the ability to work one on one to provide care for each patient. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and vacation getaways to the beach and mountains.

Dr. Banks Weed

Dr. Banks Weed was born and raised in Charleston, SC. He decided to pursue a career in dentistry during his undergraduate studies at Clemson University, where he graduated in 2014 with a BS in Biomedical Engineering. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2018. Following dental school, he completed a post-graduate residency program in advanced general dentistry at East Carolina University. Dr. Weed is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. He believes that the field of dentistry is constantly changing and evolving, which motivates him to stay up to date on the most modern technology and research. He is committed to providing high-quality dental services with honesty, integrity, and compassion to care for each patient's unique needs. Dr. Weed is married to Mary Frances Ballenger Weed, who is a native of Greenville, SC. Together they have a daughter, Emmy, and a golden retriever named Bonnie. In his spare time, Dr. Weed enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, being on the water, and playing disc golf. Dr. Weed is excited to be in upstate South Carolina and is honored to serve the people of the Anderson community.

Dr. Byron Guffee

Dr. Byron Guffee is a Pendleton native. He lives by the philosophy that "you should treat others as you want to be treated." He is compassionate when it comes to his patients' needs and is dedicated to providing his patients with the highest quality of care without discomfort. While being a dedicated doctor and devoted friend to his patients, Dr. Guffee is married to his wife Kayla Thrasher Guffee. They have 3 sons named Rollins, Asher, and Hewitt. Kayla is also a Pendleton native, and a first grade teacher at Calhoun Academy of the Arts. They are both active at Concord Baptist and in their community. Dr. Guffee enjoys fishing, visiting with family and friends, and volunteering at local free dental clinics. He has been on four dental mission trips to Ecuador, South America and Burundi, Africa to help those less fortunate. Dr. Guffee is a 2005 graduate of Clemson University and a 2011 graduate of The Medical University of South Carolina, where he excelled and was the recipient of several academic and clinical awards, including the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry Award and the MUSC Pediatric Dentistry Award for his excellence in clinical skills, as voted on by his professors. His academic awards include multiple scholarships and the MUSC President's List and Dean's List all four years. Dr. Guffee is currently a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Spear Study Club.

Kathy Long

Kathy has worked in the dental field for over 10 years, is married and has 5 children and 8 grandchildren. She has lived in Anderson for 38 years and enjoys spending time with her family, keeping her grandchildren, crocheting, working in the yard, and traveling to the beach. When asked what a neat fact about the Guffee Dental practice was, she responded "We begin our day with God's word and pray for each other and our patients. We also send our patients cards of encouragement in times of need." One of Kathy's bucket list items is to take a trip out west.

Kricket Doker

Job Titles:
  • Registered Dental Technician
Kricket is a registered dental technician as well as a certified dental assistant with 10 years' experience. She is from Anderson and is a graduate of Greenville Technical College. Kricket currently resides in Anderson with her husband and daughter. She attends Second Chance Church and loves anything Jeep related.

Kristal Welborn

Job Titles:
  • Coordinator
Kristal is a treatment coordinator with over 20 years of experience. She is from Anderson and is married with one son and a daughter. In her free time, she loves to read, shop, spend time at the beach with family, and spend time with her fur baby. When asked what kind of impact she has on patients' lives, she responded "I hope they take away a positive caring and informative impact." One of Kristal's bucket list items is to travel to Hawaii with her family.

Kristina Burdette

Kristina is one of our dental assistants who graduated from Tri-County Technical College in 2019. She started her dental career in Pediatrics before joining Guffee Dental in 2022. She is married and has two daughters. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Laura Smith

Laura is one of our dental hygienists and has over 20 years of experience in the field. She was born and raised in Texas but has lived in South Carolina for over 20 years. A career in dental hygiene was appealing to her when it came to one-on-one care, flexibility, and family life balance. Laura is a wife and mother to 3 children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, travelling, reading, and home projects. When asked to talk about the relationships she builds with patients, she responded "Patients equals patience. Like any relationship, it takes time. We work closely with our patients and want them to feel comfortable while they're in our chairs. Trustworthiness is of utmost importance." One of Laura's bucket list items is to take her whole family to a far away destination.

Michele Pastore

Michele started her dental career 20 years ago as a Practice Administrator in an Endodontic practice. She joined Guffee Dental in 2021 and it has been a highlight of her dental career. Michele is originally from upstate New York and chose to call Anderson home when her husband retired. In her free time, she enjoys taking trips to the beach and traveling to spend time with her children and grandchildren. When asked to tell us about Dr. Guffee and Dr. Weed, she responded "Dr. Guffee and Dr. Weed are passionate about dentistry and the care they provide to our patients. They are perfectionists, and they treat every patient as if they were a member of their family. They are gentle, compassionate, skilled, knowledgeable, and they take the time to educate patients about treatment options without pressure of acceptance." One of Michele's bucket list items is to spend Thanksgiving in NYC. She wants to ice skate on the rink at Rockefeller Center, attend a show at Radio City Music Hall, watch the Macy's parade from a hotel balcony while sipping hot cocoa, and experience Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Saks' elaborate holiday window displays.

Renne Thomas

Renne was born and raised in Anderson. She has been a dental assistant for over 25 years. Renne is married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. She chose to go into dentistry because she wanted to care for others but with the option of being home every night and weekend. In her free time, she enjoys baking and crafting, riding four wheelers, and random day trips with her husband. When asked why people should choose Guffee Dental instead of another dental practice, she responded "Guffee Dental is truly a family. We all care about each other and their families. We want to provide the best care for our patients." One of Renne's bucket list items is to travel to Hawaii.

Taylor Goudie

Job Titles:
  • Dental Hygienist
Taylor is a dental hygienist and has been at Guffee Dental since 2018. She is born and raised in Anderson. Taylor has always known she wanted to work in the healthcare field, but ultimately decided on dentistry after high school. She takes pride in creating beautiful and healthy smiles. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home, spending quality time with her family, and experimenting in the kitchen making new dishes. When asked to tell us about a typical day at Guffee Dental, she responded "We start the day in our morning huddle with devotion and prayer. We respect each patient's appointment time and treat each patient as if they were a loved family member. Treatment ends once we are happy with the work we have provided. We sanitize and sterilize each room and instrument between every patient with absolutely no short cuts. We typically spend lunchtime together with our work family which gives us time to catch up with one another. By the end of the workday, we ask each other how we can help as we tidy up the office for the next morning." One of Taylor's bucket list items is to take an Alaskan cruise.

Terry Foster

Terry has been a dental hygienist for over 35 years and has been with our office since 1998. She was inspired by her dad and uncle to go into the dental field, and she has thoroughly enjoyed working with her patients/ friends for so many years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren at their farm fishing and hunting. She also enjoys working outside in the yard. When asked what kind of atmosphere she likes to maintain in this office, she responded "calm and caring atmosphere" One of Terry's bucket list items is to vacation at Glacier Mountain.

Tracie Kinard

Tracie is one of our dental assistants and has been with us since 2004. She is from Anderson and is married to her high school sweetheart and has one son. She describes herself as the office clown. In her free time, she enjoys antiquing, thrift store shopping, and spending quality time with her family. When asked what it is like to work at Guffee Dental each day, she responded "It's a joy and a privilege to be working with such wonderful people." One of Tracie's bucket list items is to travel to Italy.
