I'm replying on behalf of Adam Kissiah's children, as he passed away in 2014. We wanted to take the time to tell you how much we appreciate your kind words, and for taking the time to post them on the site. We don't check it regularly so please pardon our delay in replying. Our appreciation is no less heartfelt, despite the delay. Anyone who knew Adam (he went by "Bud", a nickname started by his NASA buddies) would tell you that he was a truly selfless person. He had the most kind-hearted and gentle nature of anyone you'd ever meet, and was very humble in general, and in regards to his invention. If he were here, he'd be thrilled to see your post and would reach out to you personally, and thank you profusely. Knowing that he helped people was the best part of it for him... This website tells the story of Adam Kissiah's Cochlear Implant. Adam holds the patent for the first implantable hearing device.
