​Dwayne Farris Dwayne currently serves as the Director of the Services. As the Director, Dwayne oversees and coordinates daily operations of the services of K-9 Solutions International that include developing and implementing operational plans and objectives concerning pipeline infrastructure world-wide. Being a national subject matter expert (SME) surrounding the training and utilization of canines for pipeline operations, he has performed services for companies such as Shell, Chevron, Exxon-Mobil, and large pipeline construction companies for new and existing pipelines. Dwayne continues to grow his knowledge base to align with best practices within the industry for detecting known leaks, unknown leaks, pipeline regulated inspections, illegal tapping both in rural and urban environments, and safety concerns at compressor stations and refineries for all upstream, midstream, and downstream type operators. He is the Owner of Black Creek K9 (BCK9) Pipeline Leak Detection LLC. based in North Texas. BCK9 Pipeline Leak Detection Services is a fully licensed private security investigations company with the Texas Private Security Board (License #A104483301). Serving the continental United States, Canada and Mexico using canines for detection services historically supersedes science-based applications because of the sensitivity of a dog's nose. BCK9 Pipeline procures, trains, and utilizes highly trained canines to detect the smallest of leaks in pipelines buried, above ground, and within heavily populated residential and business areas. The training methodology and advanced application that Dwayne designed have resulted with detected leaks at depths of 14 feet buried in some of the harshest U.S. southwest environments. The canines are highly trained and professionally selected for attributes that are needed for this type of service. They are trained on industry-approved odorants, crude oil, natural gas, and hydrocarbon mixtures averaging 16km search range per dog/day. Dwayne is also the Owner of BCK9 Services LLC based in North Texas. BCK9 Services is a full-service dog training organization providing detection and training services to the community as well as the oil and natural gas industry. Dwayne specializes in assisting the pet dog industry with unwanted behavior using methods tailored to the individual dog and owner. The detection services provided include narcotics, explosives, firearms, and bedbug detection services throughout North Texas and to the oil and natural gas companies throughout the continental United States. Working alongside operators in fracking sites, drilling sites (both on-shore as well as off-shore rigs), man-camps, construction sites, compressor stations and refineries BCK9 Services has provided cost saving and effective detection services. Dwayne has spent over 21 years in the K9 industry both domestically and internationally working and training personnel and canines to provide lifesaving and infrastructure preservation. Prior to the creation of Black Creek K9 Pipeline Leak Detection, Dwayne served with the National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program (NEDCTP) with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as a Regional Canine Coordinator (RCC), Field Canine Coordinator (FCC), and Regional Canine Training Instructor (RCTI) based in Seattle, Washington. Dwayne provided program oversight and subject matter expertise (SME) to law enforcement and federal canine teams in the mass transit, multi-module, and aviation modes of transportation for the Pacific Northwest and surrounding states, including Alaska. Prior to working with the TSA, he was a Multi-Purpose Canine Training Instructor for a United States Army Special Forces unit based in Washington. Dwayne assessed and selected specific working dogs to begin training with Special Forces professionals. He created phased training evolutions to Special Forces operators consisting with the basic understanding concepts on how to deploy a Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) to search, explosive detection, tracking and controlled aggression in world-wide operational environments. He created advanced course operations that included live fire, close quarter combat training, insertion, and extraction techniques that all lead up to pre-mission training profiles, certifications, and operational implementation. He was also a civilian contractor for various high profile security companies with the Department of State in Iraq and Afghanistan serving as an explosive detection handler, combat tracker, trainer, Kennel Master and Program Manager. Dwayne honorably served both the Army National Guard as a Field Artilleryman and a United States Marine. Dwayne spent 8 years in the Marine Corps both active duty and active reserve where he was promoted to Staff Sergeant for Detachment, Military Police Company, 4th Marine Division. During his time in the Marine Corps, he received Honorable Graduate of the Military Police school at Ft. Leonardwood, MO., Combat Marksmanship Coach and Military Working Dog handler. He worked and trained narcotic, explosive and patrol working dogs in support of Operations in Kenya, Africa; Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan; and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq. Dwayne was awarded various decorations including Joint Service Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal (2nd award), Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Dwayne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and a Master of Arts in Business Administration and Management.
