MAINE MUSIC LESSONS - Key Persons

Anna Pearlman is a Boston-based violinist, violist, and fiddle player. Currently residing in Portland, Maine, she is Concertmaster of the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra and regularly plays both violin and viola in the Portsmouth Symphony. Anna also plays violin for the Lyric Theater, Portland Players and other musical theater productions. She has performed in weddings and events throughout New England, including Maine Jewish Museum's first Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and was recently featured playing the violin at the animal shelter on News Center Maine's 207 show.

Chris Chasse has been teaching music for 12 years. He currently holds a BA in Music Education and is an active member of MENC (Music Educators National Conference). He is certified to teach beginning to intermediate levels on a broad range of instruments, including bass guitar, all winds (from clarinet to euphonium), drums, percussion, and beginning piano.

Darren Whitney is an accomplished energetic woodwind educator teaching saxophone, flute, and clarinet for all ages beginner to expert. Lessons are fun yet focused on learning the fundamentals of technique of the instrument as well as reading music and improvisation. Darren strives to help the student at his own pace with these different elements so that the student can benefit in their lives from the joy of learning a musical instrument. He is also a veteran saxophone performer playing in the Greater Portland area for more than three decades now. Whether your event warrants a sophisticated soloist, or a larger band sound, Darren can accommodate as a soloist, or as part of a larger ensemble. With innovative modern backing tracks, his solo performance can cover the music from the last 100 years from big band jazz to today's newest hits. Eric Bettencourt has been teaching the guitar in the Portland area for over 10 years and produces records for many local artists. He offers lessons in lead and rhythm technique, fingerstyle, flat picking, and song writing. Eric also performs as a singer/ songwriter and plays in multiple bands.
