Caitlin McLaughlin

Job Titles:
  • Secretary
I grew up on Boston's North Shore, and I earned my BA in Political Science at Salem State University in 1996. After completing a year of law school at the University of Denver, I became an educator, and I returned to SSU to complete a M.A.T. in Middle School Mathematics and a C.A.G.S. in Educational Leadership. I settled in Keene three years ago with my husband and son, and I am very happy living here. My professional experience includes working as a Middle School Math Teacher, as well as an Instructional Coach and a Curriculum Director. As the parent of an MC 2 student, I deeply appreciate the school's philosophy of personalized learning and the way that the school engages students in their learning process. I feel like my child is thriving, and I want other families in the Monadnock region to have access to everything that MC 2 has to offer.

Hello, I am very excited to be joining the MC 2 team. I graduated from Keene State College in 2015 where I earned my Bachelor's degree in mathematics. I had previously completed the Foundations in Education program at the Concord Technology Regional Center. I have long had a passion for education anchored firmly in my beliefs that effective education is paramount to ensure a better global society. In my personal life I enjoy exploring and researching the broad world of mathematics as well as being outdoors whenever I can (hiking, camping, fishing etc..). I am also a big music nerd! Most of my free time is spent listening to music and searching for new artists to listen to and write about. I am always up for a good conversation about music, regardless of genre!

I began my teaching career at the original Monadnock Community Connections program from 2003-2010. It was a great fit for me coming out of college with a dual degree in Physics and Studio Art. I am a Keene native married to a Swanzey local and together we have three young boys who keep us very busy and our home full of Legos. My family is a teaching family, passionate about creativity and learning, and we are all life-long participants in the creative problem-solving program Destination ImagiNation (formerly Odyssey of the Mind). I'm always ready for a pick-up game of Ticket to Ride or Ultimate Frisbee.

Eric Snare

I have been involved with theatre since early childhood, and with improvisational theatre since joining ActingOut in 2000. With a BA in Improvisational Arts from Keene State College, I have taught both beginning and advanced improv skills for MoCo Arts' Creative Arts at Keene Summer Camp and as a Staff Member. I have also served as an Americorps Volunteer. I have seen theatre transform both the students I teach and the communities I live in, time and again. It is this capacity for spurring positive change and growth that ultimately brings me to both the classroom and the stage, and that fuels my passion for teaching.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be joining this wonderful school community! I live in Keene with my husband and our two children, who always keep life interesting. In my free time I enjoy reading, crafting, and spending as much time as possible with my friends and family. I am also an embarrassingly huge Disney fan! I went to River Valley Community College before transferring to Granite State College for Early Childhood Education. I worked at a local childcare center for 11 years, until I decided to homeschool my son during the Covid pandemic. I have always had a passion for teaching and am so excited to bring my energy and enthusiasm into the classroom.

Kathleen (Katie) Hamon - Chairman

Job Titles:
  • Chairman
I grew up in the Monadnock Region before heading to Dartmouth College for a B.A. in Mathematics. Since then, I have worked in the field of education, interning for a summer at St. Paul's School in Concord, NH before heading to Beverly, MA to teach math, literacy, and technical theater at Landmark High School. While there, I earned my teaching license and an M.S.Ed. in Moderate Special Needs from Simmons College. After eight years teaching in the classroom and simultaneously working with Landmark Outreach for much of that, I moved out west to get an M.A. in Policy, Organization & Leadership Studies from Stanford's Graduate School of Education. I currently work for the CK-12 Foundation to support students and educators through curriculum enhancements, training, and professional development, including development of the CK-12 Certified Educator Program. I was able to move back east in 2017, first to Massachusetts and then back home to the area, where I reconnected with family and friends, and got involved with MC2. I am grateful for this opportunity to support an amazing program and help drive change in a field for which I am passionate and believe true differences can be made in people's lives.

Larry Monson

Job Titles:
  • Vice Chair
Larry lives in West Chesterfield, NH with his wife Samantha. He credits his successful career in the auto industry to the many teachers who helped him in school as a person struggling with Dyslexia. He started as a sales consultant early in his career and quickly moved up the ranks, first as a Finance and Insurance Manager and then in the position of Sales and ultimately General Manager at several large car dealerships in Utah, Georgia, and now here in New Hampshire. Currently, he is the general manager at Monadnock Ford in Swanzey where he oversees the development of business strategies, and recruits, hires, trains, and motivates a staff of 38. Monson, who went to school in the 1980's says, "As a student with Dyslexia, I depended on teachers who went above and beyond the normal teaching practices of the time. I strongly believe my success in the business world would not have been possible without those teachers who truly inspire greatness. MC 2 understands that each child learns differently and their unique approach to education enables every child to thrive and succeed."

I am very happy to be part of this wonderful community. I actually applied for this job on a whim, never expecting to ever work at a high school. I will have to say that this is the most interesting, fun and rewarding job I have ever had beside being a mom. I love how diverse this community is. These kiddos are so interesting, unique and amazing! I can't wait to see where they will go and what they will do. They are destined for greatness. I'm sure of it! I grew up and went to school in the area and have never left. In my free time I like knitting, crocheting, cooking, reading, fishing, kayaking, learning how to garden, baking and hanging out with my husband, my 4 grown kids and my dog, Mookie. I also enjoy a good pun or dad joke!
