Job Titles:
- Assistant Men 's Soccer Coach
Lund came to Montreat from D'Youville University in Buffalo, N.Y. where he was hired as an assistant coach in July of 2023. After the head coach left the program, Lund acted as the interim head coach from September 27 through December.
Prior to his time at D'Youville, the Rochester, N.Y. native spent time with two separate clubs. While also in college, Lund assisted at Smugtown FC in the USPL from 2020 through 2023. He also served as the goalkeeper coach for the Perdido Bay Rush from 2021 to 2023.
Lund began his collegiate playing career at Genesee Community College in 2018. From 2019 to 2023, Lund then played at Pensacola Christian College where he earned his degree in sports management. At PCC in 2022, he was named an NCCAA Second Team All-American and NCCAA South Region First Team athlete. In 2019, the Eagles won the NCCAA Division II National Tournament.

Former student-athlete with the program Alyssa Hudson has been hired as the assistant coach for the Montreat softball team as announced by the athletic department earlier this month. Her first day is December 1, 2023.
After her graduation from Montreat with a degree in educational studies this past spring, Hudson landed a position as the recruiting coordinator for Carolina Prospects Softball 18U team. She currently resides in Swannanoa, N.C.

Anthony Barringer was hired as the Montreat men's basketball coach in August of 2022 and is entering his second season with the Cavaliers in 2023-24.
Barringer is the founder and president of 323 Performance Enhancement, Inc., an organization based in Asheville, N.C. that focuses on skill development for basketball players, while also facilitating strength and conditioning workouts for athletes in all sports. Barringer started his non-profit organization in 2016.

Former graduate assistant, Ashley Eze, was named the interim cheer & dance coach for Montreat College's programs heading into the 2023 competitive season. The 2023-24 school year marks her second year with the Cavaliers.

Former Montreat College athlete Ben Hall returned to his alma mater as the Director of Sports Medicine in July of 2023.

Early in September of 2021, Montreat athletics announced the hiring of Ben McCrickard as an assistant coach for the school's men's basketball program. McCrickard enters his third season with the Cavaliers in 2023-24.
McCrickard graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Sport Management from Western Carolina University in 2018. While he attended WCU, McCrickard also earned valuable coaching experience, serving as both an assistant and a head coach over four years at Blue Ridge Early College in Cashiers, N.C. It was there that he helped the school win its first conference championship in twenty years.
Brett Rosin joined the Montreat baseball coaching staff as a pitching coach prior to the start of the 2022 season. He is entering his third season with the Cavaliers in 2024.

Britten Olinger was announced as the head coach of the Montreat men's and women's track & field teams in 2016. Olinger later transitioned to the role of an assistant cross country and track & field coach following a serious car accident in 2017.

Caleb Thornburg returned to his alma mater after being hired as an assistant men's and women's track & field coach in November of 2022. His duties began immediately as the programs' 2023 seasons were already underway.

In August of 2021, Christian Zylstra was hired as the assistant sports information director for Montreat College Athletics. Zylstra enters his third year in the sports information department heading into the 2023-24 academic year.

Hired in January of 2020, Christopher Intoppa caps off his fourth year and enters his fifth as the sports information director at Montreat during the 2023-24 school year.
As SID, he manages and oversees the communications for all 23 athletic teams. The primary contact for 12 sports, Intoppa handles duties concerning statistics, broadcasting, video, social media, the athletic website, game programs, media guides, graphics and award nominations. He has increased reach on social media, developed templates for both graphics and game programs and driven the growth of sports information at Montreat through a plethora of avenues, including video production and strategic decision-making. As a member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC), Intoppa contributes to NAIA-SIDA through assistance with both the programming committee and the publications committee.
At the end of the 2022-23 school year, Intoppa garnered recognition as the Appalachian Athletic Conference's Willie Belcher Sports Information Director of the Year recipient, marking his first such award and the first honor for Montreat in the award's 12-year history. In November of 2023, he was also one of five NAIA SIDs to be named to CSC's second-ever 30 Under 30 class.
Corbin Weeks took over the Montreat College softball program as its interim head coach in May of 2023 after serving as an assistant baseball coach at the school since 2022. The interim tag was then removed in August of 2023 and the 2024 season will be Weeks' first season as the softball coach.

In April of 2022, Daniel Kehler was hired as the new head coach of the Montreat men's and women's golf programs. Kehler enters his second full year with the Cavaliers in 2023-24.

Dr. Alex Sosler joined the Montreat College faculty in 2018 as an assistant professor of Bible and ministry.
Dr. Sosler is a graduate of Southern Evangelical Bible College (B.A. Religious Studies) and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and graduated with an Ed.D. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in December 2018. His dissertation focuses on the teleological priorities of Christian higher education. His research interests are in the area of spiritual formation, education, and theology. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society of Professors in Christian Education.

In July of 2022, Garrett Jones was promoted from his position of head men's basketball coach and Assistant Athletic Director of Eligibility to Director of Athletics. He enters his second full year as Director of Athletics in 2023-24.

Glen Eggert joined the Montreat women's soccer coaching staff in a volunteer assistant coaching capacity during the 2022 season. He is entering his second season with the Cavaliers in 2023.
Hub Powell became the first coach in Montreat clay target shooting program history in spring of 2020. He enters his fourth year with the Cavaliers in 2023-24.

Jacob Simms was announced as the Montreat head men's and women's track & field coach in late July of 2022. He enters his second season in charge of the program in 2024.

Jason Beck is entering his eighth year as the head coach of the Montreat baseball program in 2023-24 after initially being hired in July of 2016. Prior to the 2020-21 academic year, Beck also took on the title of Associate Director of Athletics.
Coach Beck and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 25+ years and have two children, Gavin and Kelsey.

Coach Jason Lewkowicz enters his ninth season as the Director of Cross Country/Track & Field in the 2023-24 school year. Since his arrival to Montreat in 2015, the program has seen unprecedented levels of growth and success both at the conference and national levels. In August of 2022, Lewkowicz was promoted to the position of Senior Associate Director of Athletics.

In late May of 2023, Montreat Athletics named former wrestling athlete Jim Connaghan to the position of Associate Head Men's Wrestling Coach. Connaghan was then promoted to Head Men's Wrestling Coach in February of 2024. He entered his first season at the helm of the men's wrestling program in 2023-24.

Former head coach at Central Florida, Wake Forest, and Navy, Joe Sanchez, was hired by the Montreat College athletic department as the assistant coach for the women's basketball program in the fall of 2023. Sanchez joined head coach Josh Thompson's staff in preparation for his first year with the Cavaliers during the 2023-24 season.

In April of 2022, the Montreat athletic department announced the hiring of Josh Thompson as the head coach of the Cavalier women's basketball program. Thompson enters his second season with the Cavs in 2023-24.

Justin Ben, who assisted in athletic training with the Montreat College athletic department for portions of the 2022-23 school year, was hired as an assistant athletic trainer as announced by the institution in January of 2024.
Prior to joining the Cavalier staff, Ben served as an athletic trainer at Carolina Day School and Physical Therapy Solutions. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in athletic training from Cedarville University in 2022. While at Cedarville, the Springboro, Ohio native acted as an athletic training student with the Cedarville men's basketball team for the 2021-22 season.

Kayla Bone was officially named the head women's lacrosse coach in January of 2024 after becoming the interim head coach for the Montreat women's lacrosse program in July of 2023. Prior to her interim tag, Bone assisted as a volunteer within the program during the 2022-23 academic year. She enters her first full year with the Cavaliers in 2023-24.

Montreat College announced the hiring of Koby Reyes as the third head coach in the history of its women's wrestling program in February of 2024. Reyes began his duties with the team immediately.

Kristin Eggert, who was named the head coach of the women's soccer program in May of 2021, came back to the Cavs following a stretch as the Montreat women's soccer assistant coach during 2019, when she managed recruiting and all aspects of goalkeeper development. In the summer of 2023, she was named the department's Senior Woman Leader. The 2023 season was her third as head coach.

Marcos Salazar was chosen to head the Montreat men's and women's tennis teams in January of 2024.
Matt Nelson was hired as the first head coach of the Montreat cycling program as announced by the athletic department in August of 2023. He began his position immediately in preparation for the inaugural competition season during the 2024-25 school year.

Michael Bruce was named the head coach of the Montreat men's soccer program prior to the start of the 2017 season. He concluded his seventh season as head coach of the Cavaliers in 2023.

After spending the 2022-23 academic year as a volunteer assistant coach within the Montreat baseball program, Rick De Armas was elevated to a full-time assistant coaching position prior to the start of the 2023-24 school year. His duties include working with both the hitters and infielders.
