Aisha Al Kharusi

Aisha Al Kharusi is the deputy executive chairperson of the Modern College of Businessand Science, overseeing transformation and innovation within the college. Established in 1996, Modern College of Business and Science is Oman's oldest full-fledged private institution. With a proven track record of leadership and strategic vision, Aisha brings a wealth of experience to this pivotal role for driving progress and a commitment to excellence. Prior to this role, Al-Kharusi served as Assistant General Manager of Government and Institutional Banking, Chief Marketing Officer in Oman's leading Islamic Bank. From 2009 to 2012, Aisha was the executive manager of corporate communications and strategy, a key leadership team member, and a strategic, long-range business planner of Oman's oldest commercial bank, NBO. Earlier, she was the Deputy Regional Director of The Boeing Company, part of the team responsible for setting up the largest aerospace company, the Middle East Dubai Office, covering ten regional countries. Her responsibilities included international relations, university relations, and the Global Corporate Citizenship arm. Al Kharusi began her career with USA Today in Washington, D.C., followed by a publishing firm in Oman and a short tenure at Sultan Qaboos University. In her nearly three decades of work experience, Aisha has held several other senior leadership positions at the corporate level and mid-level management. Aisha has completed several leadership courses and programs. In 2016, she was selected to join The National CEO program organized by the Diwan Royal Court and led by IMD Business School and the National University of Singapore. Through rigorous assessment interviews, she was chosen amongst other C-suite-level executives in Oman's private sector. She also completed a senior executive program at the London Business School - U.K.'s number 1 business school and Q.S. Global Full-Time MBA Top-4. She has served on several boards, including founding board members of inJAz Oman, AEISEC Oman, Oman Business Forum, Oman Chamber of Commerce - Businesswoman Forum, and Capital Market Authority. She has a bachelor's degree from American University, Washington DC, and a master's degree in communication design from the University of Arts London, Central Saint Martins - Q.S. World ranked number 2 for Arts and Design. She has received several awards, including the "Woman of the Year 2012" from the Al Mar'a Excellence Award. Aisha was listed among the "Most Powerful Women in Corporate Oman" by the Oman Economic Review. She is passionate about developing and nurturing talented teammates and creating a working environment where everyone can thrive. She has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Washington, D.C., Cologne, Germany, Dubai, UAE, and most of the Middle East. Apart from her professional life, Aisha enjoys philanthropic roles and sits on the board of Bwejuu Charity School in Zanzibar, East Africa. A school for underprivileged children with over 600 students. In Oman, she sat on the Board of Children First and was a member of the Association of Early Intervention for Children with Special Needs.

Dr. Ahmed Al Maashri

Dr. Ahmed Al Maashri is an Associate Professor and the Head of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Ahmed holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University - USA. Dr. Ahmed has over 20 years of academic experience. He is a senior IEEE member, the founder of the IEEE Oman Computer Chapter, and the past Chair of the IEEE Oman Section. Dr. Ahmed co-founded the Embedded & Interconnected Vision Systems Laboratory, a unique and one-of-its-kind in the region. He is a two-time recipient of the National Research Award in the ICT sector and has been recognized by Sultan Qaboos University with the "Best Teacher and Best Researcher Awards." Dr. Ahmed's recent focus is on Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Vision Systems, and designing hardware accelerators to speed up the performance of such systems.

Dr. Amur Al Yahmedi

Dr Amur Al Yahmedi is an Associate Professor in the Department of mechanical & Industrial Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Al Yahmedi holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis- USA. A member of both IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and ASME, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Dr Amur has over 23 years of academic experience. Dr. Al Yahmedi chaired the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit at the College of Engineering (SQU) and is an ABET Program Evaluator (ABET PEV). Dr. Al Yahmedi research work focus is analyzing the dynamic of movement of various mechanical systems and how to control such systems to accomplish different tasks. Worked on different areas like, the Control of Two Manipulators Handling a Flexible Object, Behavior Based Navigation of Mobile Robots, Design of in-pipe inspection robots, Efficient Walking of a Simple Biped with a Torso and understanding human motion through simple realistic models.

Dr. Moosa Al

Dr. Moosa Al Kindi serves as the eighth dean of the Modern College of Business and Science. A noted academic, scholar, and recipient doctorate in Instructional Design, Dean Al Kindi began his tenure in September 2021. Dr. Moosa Al Kindi obtained his doctorate in Instructional Design from the University of Pittsburgh in 1995; a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Technology from Texas A&M University in 1989; a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from California State University - Sacramento in 1982. Dr. Al Kindi worked at Oman TV (Ministry of Information), then at Sultan Qaboos University. The last position he held at Sultan Qaboos University was the Assistant Deputy President for Humanities Colleges. Before joining MCBS to serve as dean, Dr. Moosa served as the Director of Arab Open University - Oman from February 2007 to August 202. In this role, Dr Moosa, executed the procedures for establishing the Arab Open University Branch in Oman including completing the legal framework and preparing the official agreement between the Arab Gulf Development Fund and the Government of Oman represented by the Ministry of Higher Education, culminating in the commencement of the branch in March 2008. At the country level, Dr. Moosa chaired several key committees including the Quality Assurance Committee. He also chaired tasks including supervision of the annual monitoring report as required by the Open University accreditation and chaired the process of preparing for major phases for the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority such as the Quality Audit and the Institutional Standards Assessment. Before his Arab Open University deanship, Dr. Moosa was the Assistant Vice President for Humanities/Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and Community Service at the Sultan Qaboos University. He also served as dean of educational services from 2002 to 2004. Between 2000 and 2002, Dr. Moosa was the Director of Educational Technology at Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Moosa Al Kindi taught several courses at the bachelor and master levels at United Arab Emirates University and Sultan Qaboos University. He also published several articles and presented several presentations and keynote addresses in the areas of multimedia applications and electronic and online learning.

Dr. Muneer bin Mohammed Al-Maskari is a visionary higher education leader and brainchild behind the establishment of Oman's first full-fledged private college - Modern College of Business and Science. His vision thankfully became a reality with the support and belief of like-minded individuals: His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Sheikh Saif Bin Hashil Al Maskery, the Late Col. Mohammed bin Abdallah Al-Riyamy, Eng. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Mahrouki, Eng. Azza bint Mohammed Al-Mahrouki and Ms. Sheikha bint Mohamed Al-Mahrouki. In 1996, Dr Muneer was the first to serve as MCBS's Dean. In 1998, Dr. Muneer was assigned as a "Fellow" in the Center of International Studies, University of Missouri - St. Louis. As part of his Doctoral internship, he was trained in how to manage a Higher Education Institute in a Community College in Saint Charles, Missouri, USA. Between, 2001 and 2006 he served his country as Undersecretary for Manpower. In 2007 to 2011 he was appointed as member of the State Council (Majlis A'Dawla). The Members of the State Council are appointed by a royal decree and is the upper house of the Omani Parliament ‘Oman Council'. Dr Muneer was awarded "University of Missouri - St. Louis Distinguish Alumni Award" an International Distinction as the "Ideal/Best Graduate/Alumni" in September 2000, from University of Missouri St. Louis, USA from among 58,000 Alumni students, thus being the first International non-American student to be awarded such a distinction.

Professor Amer Al-Hinai obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from West Virginia University, USA, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. Dr. Al-Hinai is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies & Research (DVC-PSR) at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman. From 2012 to 2016, he was a Visiting Professor at the Masdar Institute (MI) of Science and Technology, UAE, and from 2017 to 2021, he served as the founding Director of SQU's Sustainable Energy Research Center (SERC). Since 2011, Dr. Al-Hinai has been a senior member of the IEEE. He also served as the Chairman of the IEEE - Oman Section from 2014 to 2018 and holds a Consultant grade from the Oman Society of Engineers. Furthermore, he served as a Member and Chairman of the Authority for Electricity Regulation, Oman, during the period 2011-2017. Additionally, he was a presidium member of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) from 2016 to 2017.
