NORTH STERLING IRRIGATION DISTRICT

Welcome to the North Sterling Irrigation District website. The North Sterling is an irrigation district formed on February 25, 1907 under the State of Colorado's irrigation district law of 1905. The District owns and operates the 74,590 acre-foot North Sterling Reservoir and its associated system of canals and structures and provides water for nearly 41,000 acres in Logan County, Colorado. The North Sterling Reservoir receives its water from the South Platte River near Hillrose, Colorado through a 63 mile long inlet canal and delivers water to 145 district landowners through a 65 mile long outlet canal that extends from the reservoir to approximately 8 miles northeast of Crook, Colorado.
