Bryan G. Anderson

Dr. Anderson will be joining the Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois in the Fall of 2024. He will be seeing patients at The Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois, conducting the majority of his surgeries at Southern Illinois Orthopedic Center (SIOC) as well as Deaconess Illinois: Heartland Regional Medical Center and SIH - Herrin Hospital, and taking call at the major regional hospitals. We will begin to schedule patients with Dr. Anderson in the Spring of 2024. Bryan G. Anderson, DO, MHSA, is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Spine surgeon. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Public Health from the University of North Florida before he went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pennsylvania. Following medical school, Dr. Anderson humbly served on Active Duty as a Captain and Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force for over five years - spending much of his time caring for the members of the 56 Fighter Wing and, specifically, the F-35 pilots of the 61st Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force. During his time in the military, he received the distinguished honor of "USAF Operational Flight Surgeon of the Year" from the Society of the United States Air Force Flight Surgeons in 2016 and "Company Grade Office of the 2nd Quarter, 61st Fighter Squadron" in 2017. He also conducted a multitude of human performance research projects while in the USAF, giving six podium presentations at national conferences and contributing to an interservice fighter pilot neck pain publication during his service. Following his service to our military, Dr. Anderson completed his orthopaedic surgery residency in 2023 at LECOM in Erie, Pennsylvania. Out of a desire to gain a better understanding of leadership within the healthcare field, he concurrently earned a Master's in Health Services Administration in 2020 from LECOM in Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Anderson most recently began his Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Fellowship at the world-renowned Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Anderson has received several grants contributing to his research at the beginning of his career and between publications and presentations. He continues to seek what is best for his patients and share his knowledge with his colleagues in his field. His most recent research projections include "Concussion and cervical injury prevention in Division I and II collegiate athletes: a prospective analysis" and the "Effect of cervical exercise regimen on neck pain, strength, and range of motion in graduate students." Dr. Anderson holds a medical license in the states of Illinois and Washington and looks forward to making Southern Illinois his family's home for years to come. Outside of work, he takes pride in being a husband to his wonderful wife and father to four brave young boys. He also enjoys woodworking, hiking, camping, hunting, and general aviation.

Dr. J.T. Davis, M.D. was raised in Southern Illinois and is excited to have returned home to establish a state-of-the-art sports medicine clinic with cutting edge technology and resources. He feels honored to have trained at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Institute and has dreamed of bringing that level of expertise to his home region. Dr. Davis' area of expertise includes sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. He has particular interest in rotator cuff and AC joint problems of the shoulder, biceps/labrum/ligament problems of the shoulder, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and other ligament and meniscus injuries of the knee, and tendon/ligament problems of the elbow. Dr. Davis believes in the importance of an informed patient and self-directed care, taking time to explain all treatment options to help offer his patients the best care. He will help diagnose the problem and guide patients through an appropriate treatment plan. The great majority of shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries improve with non-surgical management including therapy, injections, medicines, activity modification, and bracing. When surgery is indicated, Dr. Davis will utilize minimally-invasive arthroscopic techniques to allow the patient to return to sport, work, and/or life as quickly and safely as possible. Biography: Dr. Davis earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biophysical Chemistry from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Chicago. He continued his training with an internship in general surgery at Tulane University and Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Davis went on to complete a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California. While working for the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic he was an assistant team physician for the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, LA Angels of Anaheim, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, LA Galaxy, USC Football and the PGA Tour. Board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with a subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, Dr. Davis is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is the author of several articles published in peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters and presents at medical conferences around the country. Dr. Davis serves as the head orthopaedic team physician for the SIU Men's Basketball Team and other SIU athletic teams, for the Southern Illinois Miners Baseball Team, John A. Logan College Athletics, Shawnee College Athletics, several local high schools and is a PGA Tour Orthopaedic Physician Consultant.

J. Michael Davis

Dr. J. Michael Davis earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Davis then went on to a Surgical Internship at Boston University Medical Center. He continued his training with an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He has been in private practice in Southern Illinois since 1992. Board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Davis is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in addition to practicing at the Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association and Tulane Caldwell Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Davis is also an author whose research articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals.

Steven D. Young

Steven D. Young, M.D. was born in West Frankfort, IL and is a graduate of SIUC and SIU Medical School. Dr. Young joined The Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois in 2001 following an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Michigan State University's, Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies and Fellowship Training in Hand Surgery at The University of New Mexico's Health Sciences Center. Dr. Young continues to participate in research and training in surgical and non-surgical treatment of hand and wrist conditions.

Tennyson W. Lee

Dr. Lee was born in San Francisco, California. He is an interventional pain physician that specializes in neck, back, and pinched nerve pain. Dr. Lee moderated 15 symposiums on SI joint dysfunction and craniofacial pain as it relates to back and neck pain. He also taught medical students in a Clinical Spine and Sports Rotation for 5 years. He prides himself on being the "most gentle spine injectionist" as well as "most likely to get you feeling better". Dr. Lee and his wife, Christine, moved from Indianapolis, IN, to Southern Illinois to join the Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois.
