Kristen Riley

Kristen Riley, Ph.D., is a Clinical Health Psychologist and Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Her research and clinical work aims to reduce stigma in order to improve health equity, with a focus on integrated care and tobacco cessation for underserved groups.

Michael B. Steinberg

  • Director - Tobacco Dependence Program
Dr. Michael Steinberg is a general internist with dual appointments at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the School of Public Health. In addition to his medical degree, he has masters' level training in the field of public health education and behavioral science. His clinical and research interests include clinical preventive services and tobacco treatment in primary care and hospital settings. He has published and presented on several topics related to preventive medicine and tobacco issues. Prior to coming to Rutgers, Dr. Steinberg was on faculty at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. At Jefferson, he was Director of Educational Programs and Services at the Comprehensive Center for Tobacco Research and Treatment, where he participated in both clinical and research activities

Michelle Kennedy

Michelle Kennedy, MPH, MCHES is a research administrator with more than fifteen years of experience and has worked on topics including HIV/AIDS, food and physical activity environments, and tobacco. Currently, she is involved in several projects that are cessation focused including technical assistance coordination of the NJ Quit Centers, the Cancer Center Cessation initiative (C3i), and the Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist training. She obtained a Master of Public Health degree in Health Education/Behavioral Science from the Rutgers-School of Public Health and is currently a DrPH student in Leadership, Practice, and Research at the Rutgers-School of Public Health.
