Over the years we have settled into a unique partnership in making. Thor sculpts and forms in the glassblowing studio and I work in the design studio creating color palates and compositions for the installations. Our strength as collaborators is in our very different approach to making. I like to consider and reconsider and Thor likes to jump in trusting his instincts. This precarious balance is key to our artistic practice... We still work together when it comes to creating new designs in the hot shop. Both of us are drawn to the phenomenon of light and color that can be found in glass and look for this beauty in our surroundings. These moments are translated into form and resemble orbiting electrons, clustered cells, rolling sound waves and nestled river rocks. Our aim is to create works of art that are spontaneous and yet have a nuanced and well-crafted presence that allows for contemplation...
