La Presa is a peaceful farmstead lying within the Po River delta, a fascinating area in the region of Veneto, in north-west Italy. It is located on the bank of the River Po, six kilometres outside the small town of Taglio di Po... The farm lies on land that was created 400 years ago, when the Venetians diverted the River Po at Porto Viro in order to prevent the sea passages into Venice being blocked by silt deposited by the river. Over the centuries, new land was slowly formed, and continues to be formed, at the point where the majestic Po meets the Adriatic Sea... La Presa has been owned by the Cestari family since 1976 and was a farm for up to 4000 head of cattle for many years. We opened our doors to visitors in 2005, when we converted one of the outbuildings into our first four guest-rooms.
