Borys Koval

Borys Koval was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He obtained his Bachelor degree and Master degree in Economic cybernetics. Additionally, he received a Master degree at WU Vienna in Quantitative Finance, where he worked as a tutor (Computing, Microeconomics, Statistics). Besides this, he worked as an intern at Bank Austria in the Credit Risk department. His primary research interests include Econometrics, Statistics, and Programming. The topic of his Master Thesis is "Estimating a time-varying parameter model with shrinkage for the Standard & Poor's index". In his spare time, Borys likes to play football, chess, tennis, do yoga and meet friends. Tanja Brieden

Tanja was born in Fürth, Germany. She received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany and graduated from the Finance and Investments Master at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark in 2019. During her studies, she also spent two semesters abroad at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and Mahidol University, Thailand. Prior to joining VGSF, she was a PhD student at Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden where she spent 3.5 years in the Finance PhD. Her main research interests include Empirical Financial Intermediation, Credit Risk and Fixed Income. She gained insights into the banking sector during various intern and student assistant positions in equity trading, fixed income sales, portfolio management and risk management divisions of leading financial institutions. In her free time she is trying to get as much sun as possible by biking, hiking and exploring her new home in Vienna. Zhou Ren

Zhou Ren was born in Bengbu, China. He received his bachelor's degree in management from Nanjing Agricultural University and a master's in economics from Humboldt University of Berlin. After his graduate study, Zhou gained research experience as a research assistant at ESMT Berlin, where he participated in a hedge fund research project. Simultaneously, he also finished the Advanced Studies Program in International Economic Policy Research at IfW Kiel. Zhou is a football fan and likes playing football in his free time. He is also deeply interested in economic history and archaeology. Education: Since 2020: PhD in Finance at the Vienna Graduate School of Finance
