U3A

The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a worldwide movement aimed at encouraging older people to remain mentally, physically and socially active... U3A began in Toulouse, France in 1972. Since then it spread worldwide, coming to Australia in 1984 and to Perth in 1986, when it was started by a group of retired University of WA staff. UWA continues to support U3A Perth by providing an office at the UWA Claremont campus.
