Aaron Seligman provides support and advice for the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and the Board of Regents Education Committee. Aaron began at UW System promoting equity and innovation in K-12 schools. Previously, at UW Hillel, he managed communications, programming, and student leadership. He also helped educators become civically active at Leadership for Educational Equity, a national leadership development nonprofit. Aaron's other experience includes practicing commercial and political law at a large Wisconsin law firm, teaching Spanish with Teach For America in Washington, D.C., and developing policy and communications for a national issue campaign.
Aaron earned a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, an M.A. in teaching from American University, and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She previously was the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Planning and Technical Services for eleven years at the Connecticut State System and served as an architect and the Higher Education Team Leader for the State of Connecticut Department of Public Works. Angie Kellogg joined the University of Wisconsin System as a Senior Academic Planner in January 2018. In her position, she helps lead the development and execution of UW System advising and student success strategies, and she provides leadership for the 360 Advising initiative. In addition, she serves as a liaison to various UW System student success stakeholder groups. Angie has 25 years of experience working at UW System institutions. She previously worked at UW-Stevens Point, serving first as an academic advisor and then as the director of Academic and Career Advising. She also later helped launch a mentoring program for first-year students at UW-Stevens Point. Prior to that, she worked at UW-La Crosse as coordinator and assistant director in Student Activities and Centers, and as a coordinator in the Office of Multicultural Student Services. Angie also has worked at UW-Madison, where she provided career advising and programming for students and alumni in the College of Engineering. In all her roles, she strives to promote diversity and equity and to support efforts to enhance student retention, completion, and success. Angie received her Ph.D. in Student Affairs Administration and Research from the University of Iowa; her M.S.E. in College Student Personnel from UW-La Crosse; and her B.A. in Communication-Media from Truman State University. Annie LaValley joined the Office of Enrollment & Student Success in August 2023 as the Advisor for Strategic Enrollment Initiatives. She has over 10 years of experience within the UW System serving first as an academic advisor at UW-Whitewater then as a student services coordinator and certifying official for UW Colleges Online. Annie returned to UW-Whitewater in 2016 and was most recently the Director of Academic Services in the College of Letters and Sciences with a portfolio that included academic advising, articulation agreements, and general education transfer review. In all her roles, she strives to improve the student experience and academic persistence through policy revision, process improvement, and collaboration and specializes in all things transfer. Annie earned a graduate certificate in Data Analytics, M.S. in Counseling, and B.A. in Psychology all from UW-Whitewater following 6 years of service in the United States Army and Wisconsin Army National Guard as an intelligence analyst. Ben Hill Passmore is Associate Vice President for the Office of Policy Research and Analysis, joining the University of Wisconsin System Administration in April of 2018. In this role, he is charged with supporting both UW System leadership and UW campuses with data and predictive modeling to improve decision making, progress and performance. Prior to joining the UW System, Ben spent 15 years with the University System of Maryland finishing his time there as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance. He has worked in institutional and policy research since 1992 with a specific focus on analytics and expanding data use, educational access, improving college attainment, trend forecasting, and organizational change in higher education. Ben holds a PhD in cultural anthropology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He has held faculty positions at universities and community colleges where he has taught a range of students including underrepresented minorities, non-traditionally aged students, active duty military, and traditional students. He has taught online, face-to-face, and hybrid courses. He has conducted research in educational and workplace settings on organizational transformation, risk and social capital, and policy creation in Eastern Europe, the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands, and the United States.

Diane Waters, Program Associate, joined UW System's Office of Academic Affairs in September 2000. Before joining the office, she began employment with the Wisconsin Department of Veteran's Affairs in June 1993 and worked in the records department. Dr. Barbara Bales serves as the Director of PK-20 Strategic Initiatives and Educational Programs in the UW System Administration Office of Enrollment & Student Success. She brings stakeholder partners together to recommend, plan, and develop strategic policies and programs to build an equitable and seamless sequence of PK-20 educational opportunities for Wisconsin students. She conducts research that examines relationships among teacher education policies, preparation programs, teacher professional development, and students' opportunities to learn, particularly among those historically underserved. The findings offer a research base from which to recommend and execute strategic initiatives and innovations to address the state's PK-20 equity gaps in educational opportunity and achievement. She also supports the development and implementation of academic programs across their lifespan on select campuses.
She also holds an Associate Professor position at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, where she served as Department Chair, Director of Graduate Programs, and Director of the Center for New and Professional Educators. She is active in the World Educational Research Association, American Educational Research Association, and American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. She also served on the Editorial Boards of Urban Education and The Journal of Urban Teaching, Learning, and Research.
She earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction at UW-Madison, each with a minor in Educational Policy. She received a B.S. in Education from the State University of New York College at Cortland. Dr. Diane Treis provides consultation to University of Wisconsin (UW) universities in developing academic degree programs to meet current workforce and student demand and in applying UW System academic program policies and procedures. She serves as the principal system resource on matters relating to the assessment and credit award for prior learning. Since joining UW System Administration (UWSA) in 2009, she has served many cross-functional roles, leading major projects and policy development in areas of the recognition of prior learning, credit transfer including the Universal Credit Transfer Agreement (UCTA), and degree completion.
Throughout her career, her mission has been to develop, operationalize, and evaluate solutions to best serve Wisconsin students and families. Before joining UWSA she directed and managed precollege, credit outreach, and non-credit programming at UW-Richland and UW-Madison. Outside of higher education, she led and provided direct services to families, and she implemented economic and community development initiatives at the county level. She earned her Doctor of Education from Vanderbilt University, and an M.S. in Human Ecology and a B.A. in Political Science from UW-Madison.

Dr. John Achter joined the Office of Enrollment & Student Success in August 2020 as the UW System's first Student Behavioral Health Coordinator. From Sept. 17, 2021, to June 14, 2023, he served in a dual role as Interim Associate Vice President for Enrollment & Student Success and Director of Student Behavioral Health.
In his ongoing role as Senior Director of Student Success and Wellbeing, he supports student behavioral health initiatives and accessibility services, working with counseling, health, and disability services professionals at all of the UW System's campuses. He is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in higher education as a behavioral health practitioner, counseling center director, and student affairs administrator. He was a staff psychologist for 5 years in the Counseling Center at Concordia College-Moorhead before serving for 13 years as Counseling Center director at UW-Stout. Just prior to joining UW System, he served for 5 years as Associate Dean of Students at UW-Stout, where he chaired the behavior intervention team, was a Title IX investigator, and had supervisory oversight of counseling, health, and TRIO programs. John is passionate about serving students from all backgrounds and draws on positive psychology and trauma-informed approaches in his work.
John earned both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Counseling Psychology from Iowa State University, and a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Concordia College-Moorhead in Minnesota. His leisure interests include spending time with family, traveling, and many forms of exercise, especially outdoors.

Dr. Sheryl Zajdowicz (pronounced Zah-doe-witz) joined the UW System Office of Academic Affairs as the Director of STEM and Applied Research Initiatives at the beginning of October 2023. She previously served as an Interim Associate Dean for Data and Enrollment Management (and academic advising, and marketing and outreach) for the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Metropolitan State University (MSU) of Denver in Denver, Colorado. Over 18 years at MSU Denver, Dr. Zajdowicz served as adjunct faculty, full-time lecturer, tenure-track faculty, tenured full professor, faculty associate for undergraduate research, and chair for the Department of Biology, and she has led numerous committees including curriculum, marketing and outreach, and others. In each of these endeavors, Dr. Zajdowicz's commitment to student success and inclusivity has always been a driving force.
A first-gen student, Zajdowicz earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Virginia Wesleyan College (now University) and a doctorate in biomedical sciences with an emphasis in pathogenic microbiology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She gained post-doctoral training in microbiology at the University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical Campus. Her research investigated the many ways by which medically important pathogens cause disease, and her work also explored forms of prevention and alternative means of therapeutics. That expertise was applied not only in the classroom, where she enthusiastically taught pathogenic microbiology, immunology, clinical immunology, and microbial physiology courses, but also in the laboratory setting, where she mentored undergraduate students in various microbiological and molecular research projects. To provide additional resources and networking opportunities to her students, she also maintained active research collaborations with colleagues from the University of Colorado-Anschutz Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine and the University of Colorado-Boulder Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering.

Dr. Tracy Davidson was appointed as the interim Associate Vice President in the Office of Academic Programs and Faculty Advancement in July 2022. She previously served as the Director of STEM and Applied Research Initiatives in that office, which she joined in 2017. Her prior roles include serving as the Dean and Campus Executive Officer for the University of Wisconsin Baraboo/Sauk County starting in 2014. Following regionalization of the UW Colleges in 2016, she served as the Regional Dean for Academic Affairs for the UW Colleges campuses located in southwestern Wisconsin.
Prior to her work in administration, Davidson was tenured in the UW Colleges Department of Biological Sciences during which time she was involved in statewide and national research directed at how to best to help students understand the nature of scientific inquiry. Before becoming a faculty member, Davidson was awarded multiple post-doctoral fellowships investigating the role of cell-surface proteins in the cellular remodeling of cancer cells.
Davidson earned her B.A. in Biology and B.A. in Chemistry magna cum laude from Lawrence University in 1984 and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Michigan State University in 1989.

Edward Murphy became the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Wisconsin System on March 27, 2022. He is responsible for leading the development and updating of the UW System information security program. This will guide the work of UW System Administration and UW System institutions with respect to information security.
Edward has extensive experience in executive engagements, information security strategy, and policy development, security operations and enterprise IT. He has been instrumental in establishing the UW System's first enterprise security solution which provides a platform for increased visibility, protection, and common security operations across the UW System.
Prior to coming to the University of Wisconsin System Administration, Edward was the Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension. Before coming to Wisconsin, he held a variety of technical and leadership positions at the University of Arizona.

Ginger Hintz served in the UW System Office of Financial Administration from 1997 to 1999 as an Accountant. Since her return to UW System in 2003, she has served as an Accountant, Director of Financial Reporting, Controller and Director of Financial Services, and as of January 2016, as Assistant Vice President which now includes Controller and Director of Financial Services responsibilities. - Interim Associate Vice President of Online Learning at UW Extended Campus
Jason was appointed as Interim Associate Vice President of Online Learning at UW Extended Campus effective January 16, 2023. He had served as the Chief Business Officer of UW Extended Campus for the previous three years. In that role, he was charged with leading all administrative efforts across the organization, including information technology, human resources, business services, data analytics, and facilities and operations.
In Jason's career with UW System since 2000, he has had the opportunity to work with and travel to each campus in the system. While with UW System Administration, Jason held several leadership positions in human resources and led several important projects, including the establishment of the policies and procedures that resulted in the implementation of the University Personnel System. Jason also served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Human Resources for UW Colleges and UW-Extension. During his tenure in that role, he helped lead two major reorganizations. He was also the interim Vice Chancellor for Administration and finance for UW Colleges and UW-Extension.

Johannes Britz began serving as interim Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs for the UW System in June 2022. Britz had been Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UW-Milwaukee, where he also is a professor in the School of Information Studies. Prior to becoming UW-Milwaukee's interim Provost (2010) and permanent Provost (2012), he served as Dean of the School of Information Studies from 2005 to 2010. He held a concurrent appointment as interim Dean of the College of Health Sciences from 2008 to 2009.
He holds two doctoral degrees from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He serves on the editorial board of multiple academic journals. He is a member of national and international committees in higher education. He also is a member of the South African Academy for Science and Art.
Britz has broad international experience both as a researcher and consultant. He has a specific interest in social justice and information poverty and works primarily in Africa on these topics. He is the author and co-author of more than 100 scholarly publications. He has acted as a consultant for a number of African governments as well as private sector firms. In recognition of his work developing information ethics in Africa, the World Technology Forum named him one of five finalists for its Ethics Award in 2009.

Dr. Julie Amon serves as Associate Vice President for Enrollment & Student Success (effective June 15, 2023). She has more than 25 years of experience in enrollment and student success initiatives at several institutions, both public and private, with varying sizes, missions, and student profiles.
Most recently, Dr. Amon served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Tarrant County College (TCC), Fort Worth, Texas, where she led a division comprising 11 departments including academic advising and counseling, career and transfer services, student conduct, behavioral intervention, and the veterans resource center. Prior to TCC, Dr. Amon served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Paul Quinn College, Dallas, where she oversaw faculty, the Registrar's Office, Academic Advising, and other academic services. As Vice Chancellor for undergraduate education and student success at Rutgers University-Camden in New Jersey, Dr. Amon led a new division comprising the Educational Opportunity Fund Program, TRIO Student Support Services, the Rutgers-Camden Learning Center and Disability Services, Institutional Research, Instructional Design and Technology, Off-Campus Programs, and the Registrar's Office.
At Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Dr. Amon served a year as Acting Dean of Undergraduate Studies and as the Assistant Dean for First-Year Students. Early in her career, Dr. Amon led orientation, convocation, and other campus events while at Wayne State University in Detroit and served as an academic advisor at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights.
Dr. Amon earned her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in higher education management, with her dissertation research focusing on how men pursuing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) disciplines perceive the supportiveness of their campus environment.

Sandra Kallio joined the University of Wisconsin System Office of Academic and Student Affairs in September 2017. She provides strategic communications support for various initiatives led through that office. These initiatives have included 360 Advising, the Navigate student success management system implementation, and the Math Initiative. Prior roles with UW System institutions include university relations positions with the former UW Colleges and UW-Extension to support the work of the Chancellor and Provosts. She also was a senior writer for a Lumina Foundation grant to chronicle the development of the UW Flexible Option. She started her professional career in K-12 education and subsequently worked for more than 20 years as a newspaper reporter and assistant features editor for the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison. She is a graduate of UW-Madison with a B.S. in education and an M.A. in journalism.

Steven D. Hopper became the Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for the University of Wisconsin System on July 9, 2018. Steven has extensive experience in streamlining IT operations and establishing a common strategic IT vision. He has been instrumental in carrying out UW System's Commitment to Operational Reform and Excellence (CORE) project.
Previously, Steven was Interim Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the University of North Carolina (UNC) System, where he served for 19 years at both the campus and system level. He also held positions as Associate Chief Information Officer for Application Services and Director of Online Services, both at UNC. He was twice nominated for the Governor's Awards for Excellence in North Carolina.
Steven earned his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees, both in Computer Science, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
