VILLAGE OF GREENWICH

Greenwich Township received its name from Greenwich (Fairfield County), Connecticut, where most of the "sufferers" had resided. The first settler in the township was Henry Carpenter, who came from Ulster County, New York in 1817. The village of Greenwich was incorporated in 1879.
