Adele Ward

A lifelong resident of the Westside has given Adele the ambition to become active in community service. Serving as President of the Kiwanis Club of Taft in 2002-03 and currently the secretary/treasurer of the Kiwanis Club. She also serves as a board member of the Taft Chamber of Commerce, West Kern Oil Museum and now a member of the Westside Health Care District board. Adele retired after 32 years of service with Taft City School District as Chief Business Official. She and her husband have made their home in Taft and love the community. Adele looks forward to witnessing and being a part of the progress and growth of the Taft community.

Darren Walrath

Darren has been a local resident of the Westside his entire life. He was employed with Chevron for 35 years and retired as a Safety & Health Manager that oversaw the Health & Safety of employees and contractors in the San Joaquin Valley. He served as a Paid Call Captain for 16 years with Taft City Fire Department and an active member of the community and currently serves on the City of Taft Community Safety Committee. In addition, he is a small business owner that provides safety at local racing & sports events within Kern County. Robyn Melton

Born in Taft, and a lifelong resident of the Westside, Robyn is proud to be part of such a great community. An active member of the Taft Kiwanis club, she loves participating in community service and enjoys camping and traveling with her family. Robyn serves on the Board of Trustees for the West Side Cemetery District. She is married to her husband Steven, they have three children, Mariah, Sierra, and Tanner. They also welcomed two grandsons in 2021. Robyn has been employed with the District since April 2008 and serves as Clerk of the Board. She is responsible for overseeing all of the day to day operations of the District, as well as handling many HR related activities. She looks forward to all the wonderful progress and growth in store for the Taft Community.

Ryan Shultz

Ryan was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. Ryan has an undergraduate degree from Westmont College and a graduate degree from California State University Bakersfield in Health Care Administration. Before his appointment as Executive Director of the West Side Health Care District, Ryan served the District as the Director of Clinical Operations for 3 years where he managed the day-to-day operations and revenue cycle of the District's Rural Health Clinic - West Side Family Health Care. As the Executive Director, Ryan is responsible for District and Clinic Operations, strategic planning, insurance and provider contracts, regulatory compliance, and District's fixed and financial assets. Ryan is married to Brittany and together they have three children Emery, Everett, and Eleanor.

Virginia Miller

Raised in West Covina, Ginny moved to Taft with her husband, Randy Miller, in 1978. She has two children - Melissa and Andrew. Ginny received her Associate Degree from Mt San Antonio Junior College in Walnut and retired from West Kern Water District where she was the Assistant to Director of Finance. Ginny is a member of Soroptomist and an active participant in the Taft community and served on the Taft City School Board for 10 years.
