Matthew Phillips

Matthew started in the UK Seed trade in 1993 working for the breeding house Sharpes International. He furthered his career working in the wholesale seed industry heavily involved in the marketing and development of all seed species with a focus on Winter Wheat & OSR. In 2003 Matthew set up his own retail seed business offering advice on all types of certified seeds direct to farmers. Phillips Seeds soon became established as a well respected supplier with a unique independent approach to seed varieties. In 2010 Matthew wanted to further the development of his business and merged with Gibson & Faulding Ltd to form GFP which offers not only certified seed knowledge and ideas but also on farm cleaning of farmers own seeds.

Mike Gibson

Mike began his farming career on a dairy farm in 1980 and then went on to study Farm Management for two years at Bishop Burton College. Following this he gained extensive experience working on arable farms in North Lincolnshire and Australia. In 1986 he moved into grain trading and worked for Dalgety, Kenneth Wilson and Gleadell Agriculture. In 2000 he joined forces with Bill Faulding and together they formed Gibson & Faulding Ltd. Mike designed and built three mobile seed dressers which are housed on step frame articulated trailers. When GFP was formed Mike oversaw the design and building of the new seed plant at Elsham which has a capability of cleaning 30 tonnes of seed an hour and can clean every agricultural commodity. Mike also looks after the 120 acre farm that GFP rents for testing varieties and chemicals on field scale basis and breeds Limosine cattle.
