Jeffrey Cain MD is a family physician and Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado. He became involved with Adaptive Adventures by learning adaptive water skiing on Sloan's Lake with the organization's founders after a multi-trauma accident that resulted in the amputation of both of his legs below the knees.
Dr. Cain is a passionate supporter of adaptive sports for people with disabilities both as part of full recovery and as part of living a rich and active life. He won a gold medal in adaptive slalom at the USASA National Snowboard Championships and was instrumental in introducing the ski bike as an adaptive device to North America.
Dr. Cain has served on many local and national boards including service as chair of the Amputee Coalition and the American Academy of Family Physicians. These days he is active in amputee insurance advocacy, bicycling, golfing, flying vintage planes and loves, loves, loves old Vespas.
Jessica started her journey with Adaptive Adventures in January 2024, fueling her passion for empowering individuals within the disability community.
