Bill Herndon

Bill attended the University of Arkansas and the University of Central Arkansas obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology (major) and chemistry (minor). After graduating from veterinary school at Mississippi State University (2000) he completed his internship and cardiology residency training at the Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (2003). A portion of his residency included working at Cardiopet VRC in Little Falls, NJ (2001). Early in his career, he performed clinical research focused on evaluating new blood testing for dogs and cats with cardiopulmonary disease. Since moving to California from Washington DC over 18 years ago: Bill has given over 38 hours of continuing education to veterinarians in the region (excluding intern rounds) and examined over 2,650 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. He is board certified veterinary cardiologist and a member of the ACVIM, AVMA, CVMA and SDVMA.

CHRISTOPHER TSAI

Dr. Chris Tsai grew up in the Washington D.C. area. After moving to the west coast for his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley, he moved back east once again to earn his veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania in 2003 and practiced for two years in the Philadelphia area. Dr. Tsai missed the beautiful weather in California and moved again back to the west coast where he joined a 24 hour emergency hospital in the Los Angeles area. In 2009, Dr. Tsai transferred to a San Diego hospital to serve as the Medical Director and joined Del Mar Veterinary Hospital in the spring of 2022. Dr Tsai has a strong interest in non-invasive surgeries and is one of the few veterinarians in the area performing laparoscopic spays and gastropexies. He also has interests in emergency & critical care medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and oncology. During his free time, he enjoys attending his children's sporting events, outdoor activities, eating, and spending time with his family - his wife, their two sons and one daughter, and their pups Jelly Bean and Lion.

Dr. Nancy Norell

Dr. Nancy Norell's love for animals, combined with a strong interest in biological science, physiology and medicine, led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Growing up, her family had Siamese cats, as well as hamsters and rabbits. While in college, she achieved her dream of owning a horse, and enjoyed riding for many years in San Diego County. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Animal Physiology from Revelle College at the University of California, San Diego, she pursued her lifelong ambition of becoming a veterinarian. In 1998, she received her degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Norell has enjoyed practicing high quality medicine, dentistry and surgery in San Diego County for the past 19 years. Her areas of special interest are dentistry, feline medicine, internal medicine, and preventive care. She is a member of the following organizations: American Veterinary Medical Association, San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, Cornell Feline Health Center and Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Norell is a San Diego native and lives in Cardiff with her husband, Bob, and their four cats: Babu, Sven, Adelia and Anders. During her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and reading.

Jonathan Hayles

Dr. Hayles is a long time San Diego resident, completing a Bachelor of Science at UC San Diego in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience in 2000. He completed the DVM program at UC Davis in 2006. Dr. Hayles then pursued a competitive one-year rotating small animal internship at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group (VMSG) in Ventura, CA. Directly following his internship, Dr. Hayles began the radiology residency program at Washington State University (WSU) College of Veterinary Medicine. His training in diagnostic imaging included small and large animal diagnostic ultrasound, radiography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), fluoroscopy and nuclear scintigraphy. Concurrently, Dr. Hayles earned a Masters in Veterinary Science (MS) degree, with research focusing on abdominal MRI and correlations to abdominal ultrasound; specifically regarding adrenal gland anatomy. In 2010, Dr. Hayles successfully completed the certifying ACVR examination. After several months remaining at WSU as a clinical instructor, Dr. Hayles and his wife, Andrea, returned to San Diego. When not working, Dr. Hayles enjoys surfing, ultimate Frisbee, travelling and spending time with his wife, two sons, Alexander and Andrew (Drew), his dog (Charles Jr.) and cat (Bali).

Seth Ganz

Seth Mathus Ganz was born and raised in central New Jersey. He attended Lakewood High School, then went to Boston University and completed a B.S. in Biology. He spent a year after undergraduate in Boston as a Surgery Technician at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital, and went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA. Seth completed consecutive one-year rotating and surgical specialty internships at Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego. He completed a three-year Surgical Residency at Animal Referral Center Fox Valley in Appleton WI. He sat for his board examination January 2011 and was Board-certified March 2011. Seth stayed on in Appleton as a staff surgeon for a year, followed by a year on staff at California Veterinary Specialists in Carlsbad, CA. He was chief surgeon at Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County in San Marcos, CA from July 2012 until 2020. Seth has performed thousands of surgeries, mentored over one hundred trainees, and lectured regularly to the referring veterinarian community. He has done locum work in Iowa, Colorado, Hawaii, and Los Angeles.
