Cynthia Wiggins, DDS, is a highly experienced family and general dentist at Alpha Omega Dental Center in Marquette, Michigan. She proudly provides a wide range of dental services to help patients improve and maintain quality oral health. Having lived in the Marquette area for more than 30 years, Dr. Wiggins first came to Marquette on a volleyball scholarship to Northern Michigan University (NMU), where she earned her Bachelor of Science in medical technology in 1988 and graduating cum laude. She then completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan, graduating at the top of her class in 1996. While at the University of Michigan, she was awarded several achievements, including the Alpha Omega Scholarship Award for Highest Academic Achievement, Academy of Periodontology Award for Excellence in Periodontal Diagnosis and Treatment, induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society for General Dentistry, and more. At Alpha Omega Dental Center, Dr. Wiggins takes a holistic approach to care, treating the body as a whole. She emphasizes that any oral condition affecting the mouth can have an impact on the entire body, and therefore, believes it is always wiser to be proactive rather than reactive. Dr. Wiggins stays up to date with the latest advancements and is an active member of the Fellow Academy of General Dentistry. She is triple board-certified in dental sleep medicine for sleep apnea treatment by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and also board-certified in craniofacial pain by the American Board of Craniofacial Pain. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Craniofacial Pain, American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, and American Sleep and Breathing Academy. When Dr. Wiggins isn't at work, she can be found spending time with her husband, Dan (whom she met at NMU), and their two children. She enjoys running, playing racquetball, softball, and volleyball, and coaching the local Articatz club and high school volleyball programs.
