Dr. Lindig was born in Texas and grew up traveling between Texas, Thailand and New York. She received her Bachelor of Music from Rice University in Houston, Texas. After graduating, she moved to Australia where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Sydney. Before coming to BHAMC, Dr. Lindig was working in rural mixed practice in Glenorie, New South Wales.
After several years overseas, Dr. Lindig is excited to be back in the United States. She is passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine, including client communications, surgery, and cuddling anything with paws. In her spare time she enjoys being with family, playing cards and watching nature documentaries with her gorgeous fur-baby, Consuela.
In the fall of 2021, Dr. Holly Connolly transplanted to Alexandria, Virginia after falling in love with its architecture, history, and people. Dr. Connolly grew up in western Pennsylvania where she developed her love for animals on a quarter horse farm. She attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania for her undergraduate degree and The University of Pennsylvania for her veterinary degree. Dr. Connolly currently shares her home with her husband of 26 years, Joe, and their Irish Terrier named Willow. Her hobbies include running, home improvement, and all things terrier!
Dr. Janet Kamei completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Bucknell University and went on to receive her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. After graduation, Dr.Kamei worked in Salisbury, MD before moving to Virginia and becoming an integral part of the BHAMC veterinary team! Dr. Kamei enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine - especially surgery and connecting with her patients. She has an extra soft-spot for grey kitties and border-collie mixes! In her free time, Dr.Kamei enjoys home-improvement projects, listening to podcasts, and cheering for the "Buckeyes"
Dr. Laura Grimm is originally from Canada, but grew up in California. She received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of California, Davis. She practiced in Salinas, California prior to joining BHAMC.
Dr. Grimm loves being in general practice, and particularly looks forward to making long-term connections with both pets and owners. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, barre and exploring this history-filled area. She also loves spending time with her black cat, Roo and her corgi, Ikora.
Dr. Baumsteiger grew up in the Bay Area, California. She attended the University of Hawai'i at Hilo and studied marine science and animal science, then received her DVM from The Ohio State University. She worked as a general practitioner in San Anselmo, California for three years, then in Salt Lake City, Utah for the last 2 years.
Dr. Baumsteiger's special interests include cytology, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and preventative medicine.
When not working, she loves being outdoors with her dogs Pepperoni and Daisy, playing ultimate frisbee, dancing, biking, swimming, and avidly following the Buckeyes.
Dr. Vanja Gvozderac (Dr. Vanja) is an Alexandria native. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University. Some of you may recognize her as she worked for us as a veterinary technician & team lead prior to attending veterinary school.
Dr. Vanja enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine with special interests in surgery and dentistry. In her spare time she enjoys reading, shopping, and attending country concerts. She is the proud pet-mom of a sweet tuxedo cat named Moo and bearded dragon named Cheeto.
