immediately brought her to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA. Our veterinary team was aghast by the severity of the dog's mange. Because Penny had never received proper treatment for the mange, it spread through her body, causing secondary infections, open lesions, and the loss of nearly all her coat. After numerous veterinary examinations, extensive skin treatments, and several months of ongoing rehabilitation, Penny made a miraculous recovery. Even better, she found a family that will give her, love, compassion and safety for the rest of her life... Despite not receiving any federal, state or county funding CGHS/SPCA continues to develop and expand programs and services for all animals that find their way to our doorsteps.
