Adam Hinds - COO

Incorporating his passion for education and service, Adam is excited to serve as the Director of Operations at CNM. In this role, Adam plays a crucial part in supporting CNM's core operational functions. He designs and implements systems and processes to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of every department. Additionally, he provides oversight for information technology (IT) services, finance systems, facility operations, human resources, and data infrastructure improvements. Adam previously served as the Operations Manager at Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, a District Executive for the Greater St. Louis Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and Commander of Norman L. Rigdon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5896 in Farmington, Missouri. He recently retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Operations Specialist with an impressive 21-year service record, completing several mobilizations and deployments at sea and on land worldwide. He now serves as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Nashville. Adam's roots trace back to Pleasant View, Tennessee. He earned a Master of Arts in Christian Practice and Conflict Management from Lipscomb University and a Bachelor of Science in International Relations with minors in Religious Studies and Global Studies from Middle Tennessee State University. He also holds several certifications in leadership and project management. In his leisure time, Adam enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, hiking, camping, or kayaking. He also dedicates time to studying religion, international conflict, and leadership.

Amiee Sadler

Amiee Sadler currently serves as our Manager of Community & Collective Impact, leading CNM initiatives around community impact, diversity, and partner engagement! Joining our team in March 2023, she previously served as our Community Impact Manager, overseeing the programs and strategies for "The Village," in partnership with the Office of Community Safety at the Nashville Metropolitan Mayor's Office. Amiee holds an Associate's Degree in Sociology from Columbia State and recently graduated with a Bachelor's in Social Work from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She's on her way to completing her MSW-JD from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Throughout her college career, Amiee has received multiple accolades, including election to the Tennessee Board of Regents and Chief Justice of the Tennessee Intercollegiate Student Legislature, honored as an international finalist in the Phi Theta Kappa Prepared Speech Competition, recipient of the Columbia State Outstanding Student in Sociology Award, selected as a Cengage International Scholar, and recipient of the Nashville Black Pride Scholarship. Amiee is a Nashville Young Leaders Council graduate and was nominated for the Young Leaders Council's Young Leader of the Year 2021. In 2022 Amiee was recognized as a POINT Foundation BIPOC Scholar and a Zora Neale Hurston Scholar by the Secular Student Association. Amiee is a College of Social Work Student Ambassador at the University of Tennessee and serves on the Dean's Student Advisory Council. She is also Executive Secretary of the Collation of Black Social Workers, an Ambassador for the College of Social Work, part of the Senior Impact Council, and a member of the Rocky Top's Leadership Institute. She was also recognized as one of Nashville Business Journal's 40 Under 40 for 2022. This year, Amiee was a finalist for the ‘Advocate of the Year' award through the Tennessee Pride Chambers' 2023 Pride in Business awards. She currently serves on the board for Nashville Launchpad and in|tn Inclusion Tennessee. Amiee also proudly graduated this year from the 2023 Nashville Emerging Leaders Cohort.

Kara Duke joined CNM in 2022 as the Director of Development & Marketing, previously serving as the Development & Membership Manager with the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM). After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication & Theatre from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, Kara has spent 15+ years working in higher education and nonprofits as a highly motivated and creative professional, leading and effectively managing projects that result in meeting organizational objectives and increased revenue.  Kara loves collaborating and building bridges to help bring positive change to the community. She is excited to partner with nonprofits and corporations to ensure overall success for Middle Tennessee's nonprofit sector. As a Nashville - Native, Kara is a lover of music and museums. She also enjoys traveling, event planning, and music festivals. Most weekends, you can find her with family and friends exploring new restaurants and live music venues in Nashville. 

Meagan Flippin - CEO, President

We are proud to welcome Meagan as our new President and CEO! Meagan joins CNM after serving as the President and CEO of the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties since January 2013. She has led a strategic organizational transformation and collaborates with the board of directors and staff to deliver on United Way's mission and vision. More than $35 million has been raised during Meagan's tenure as CEO, and initiatives such as the Young Leaders Society, Women United, Catalyst, the Bold Goals 2030, the Legacy Society, and Volunteer Connect, among others, have all been launched under her leadership. Additionally, United Way has experienced record annual giving, the launch of a planned giving campaign that exceeded initial goals by 500%, and the fifteen largest gifts in the organization's history during Meagan's tenure as CEO. Meagan has served on the United Way's State Association Board of Directors in various capacities and is currently a member of the United Way Worldwide Major and Planned Giving Advisory Council. Meagan is a past president of Rutherford Cable, the Junior League of Murfreesboro, MTSU's Blue Raider Athletic Association, and Murfreesboro Young Professionals. She is active within Murfreesboro Noon Rotary and is a Paul Harris fellow. She volunteers her time with the Charity Circle of Murfreesboro. She previously served as the Philanthropy Chair for the Alpha Delta Pi International Sorority Foundation and on the Saint Thomas Health Mission Committee. She is a graduate of Leadership Rutherford, Leadership Middle Tennessee, and the Transit Citizen's Leadership Academy. Meagan has earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential and is a Veritus Scholar. Meagan has been recognized by the Center for the Arts with its "Change It!" award, is a past recipient of the Blue Raider Athletic Association's "Most Valuable Person" award, the Junior League of Murfreesboro's "Most Outstanding Member" award, MTSU Alumni Association's True Blue Citation of Distinction for Service to the Community, and was named the 2021 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award recipient for Rutherford County. She has also been a Nashville Emerging Leader Award nominee. Meagan earned both a bachelor's degree in public relations and a master's degree in strategic leadership from Middle Tennessee State University. Most recently, she earned an MBA from Vanderbilt University in May 2017.

Miriam Reed

Miriam Reed is the Director of Education for CNM. She joined the staff in September of 2021 and oversees the planning and administration of CNM's workshops and customized training. Miriam has 28 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector and 16 years of experience in the area of nonprofit education. Miriam earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Marketing at Birmingham-Southern College. As a lifelong learner, Miriam enjoys helping others set and reach their educational goals. She is always working to streamline processes, decrease confusion, and increase participation in CNM workshops and training. She is looking forward to working with CNM's many top-notch consultants and facilitators to continue to bring the best in nonprofit education to the nonprofit professionals in middle Tennessee and beyond. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, researching the world's great mysteries, attending concerts, and traveling with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys working as a volunteer with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Second Harvest.

Summer Shumpert

Summer Shumpert joined CNM in 2023. As the Manager of Member Engagement, she leads CNM's creative outreach strategies to expand the membership base and retain and engage with existing members. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Concentration in Public Relations, and Minor in Theater from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. Summer spent 7+ years working in the hospitality and event planning industry as well as an event planning entrepreneur. She brings an impressive array of talent and experience to her position at CNM. Described as a natural relationship builder with a can-do attitude, Summer successfully planned and implemented large-scale events for Ole Miss athletics, Ole Miss alumni, and Tennessee State University. She is a self-driven, creative, and highly motivated professional whose work philosophy is to create unforgettable experiences that result in meeting organizational goals. Summer is excited about her role in partnering with nonprofits and corporations, which in turn will benefit diverse communities in Middle Tennessee. She views her role as a perfect balance between her ability to lead and her desire to serve. A transplant from the Hospitality State, Mississippi, Summer has grown to love Nashville. She enjoys traveling, shopping, comedy shows, music festivals, and trying new restaurants. Most weekends, you won't find her doing what she did the previous weekend. She's an avid lover of new adventures.
