Mrs. Halstead is excited to be part of the Christ Presbyterian Preschool staff. Prior to joining the CPP Family, she has worked for over 10 years in area preschools and has enjoyed her time in the classroom. Mrs. Halstead's primary focus at CPP is to manage the additional school programs, including before care and after care. Mrs. Halstead lives with her husband, two sons, and two cats.

Ms. Volcansek loves being a part of the Christ Presbyterian Preschool family. She holds a BS in Human Development and has always enjoyed working with young children. Ms. Volcansek has over 10 years of experience in the classroom and over 15 years administrative experience. She has two wonderful children that keep her busy in life. Ms. Volcansek enjoys sailing, gardening, watching BBC movies with her daughter and building Legos with her son - during the winter months, you will find them skiing on whatever mountain they can find!. Ms. Volcansek looks forward to being a part of your family's preschool experience at CPP.
Diane Volcansek serves as our preschool director. She is a visionary leader who is helping to expand our Preschool Ministry to meet the needs of our community. With Diane's leadership we have created a Preschool Ministry that allows families to select from various scheduling options.
Gary is the new pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church, arriving in June 2022. His calling to be a pastor is a second career, after working in executive positions in information technology and consulting services here in the Washington, D.C. area. Prior to coming to CPC, Gary was at Faith Chapel in Lucketts, VA establishing a new worshipping community at the site of a 130-year old Presbyterian church that had closed in 2015. While there he established the Lucketts Community Food Pantry which provides food (and other essentials) to Lucketts-area families in need.
A Northern Virginia native, Gary grew up in West Springfield. He and his wife Lisa have three adult children. He loves talking with folks and is (almost) always available for coffee!

Lindsey Smith is a retired Air Force veteran, having served on active duty for 26 years. While in service (1983-2009), he was a member of The United States Air Force Band, where he performed concerts in all 50 states and around the world. He also held positions in Public Affairs, Recruitment, Military Protocol, and Information Technology. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Michigan State University and a Masters of Music degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
In 2009, Lindsey joined the staff of John C. Cook, an elected member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. He was the Braddock District Office Manager and Senior Administrative Aide to Supervisor Cook. In 2017, Lindsey was promoted to the position of Chief of Staff, a role he held until 2020, when he retired from Fairfax County. As Chief of Staff, Lindsey retained many of his administrative tasks but also became the main advisor to Supervisor Cook.
Lindsey is still active in music as a teacher and performer and currently resides in Oak Hill, Virginia, with his wife Jill, and two dogs, Sully and Zeke.
LuAnn has many years of Financial/Bookkeeping experience and enjoys providing financial services for multiple churches. She grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University. She is married and has two young adult children. LuAnn grew up in a large family and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has spent much time over the years volunteering in her kid ™s schools and within the community.
