DAYTON METRO LIBRARY - Key Persons
Angela Jones began her library career as a teenager, shelving books at the Clark County Library. She joined the Dayton Metro Library in 2002 and has served in various capacities since then, most recently as an Information Services Librarian at the Main Library. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies (Art History emphasis) from Wright State University and received her MLIS from Kent State in 2009. In her spare time she enjoys reading speculative fiction, watching movies, hosting her book club, and spending time with her family.

A native Daytonian, Ashlee Hammond grew up in the Madden Hills and Westwood areas. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University in 2016 and her MLIS from Kent State University in 2019. She is an alumnus of the Black Leadership Development Program through Parity, Inc. Her Library career began in 2011 as a Library Aide. Through the years, she's continued to grow within the Dayton Metro Library system, working as both a Patron Services Assistant and Teen Services Librarian. Now she is the Assistant Branch Manager at the West Branch. Ashlee has always been inspired by this simple quote: "She believed she could, and so she did."
Ms. Macmann earned her Masters in Library Science (MLS) from the University of Kentucky, and has served as the Branch Manager at the New Lebanon Branch since 2007. Carol brings a vast collection knowledge from her time in management at BWI (Book Wholesalers) as well as a passion for education from her years in Children's Services at both school and public libraries. She enjoys literary fiction, mysteries and nonfiction.
Carol joined the Dayton Metro Library as the Huber Heights Branch Manager in April 2018. A Miami Valley native, Carol is experienced in library youth services and library management and administration. She formerly worked with libraries in Champaign and Greene Counties and worked abroad in libraries in Qatar and British Columbia, Canada. Carol enjoys traveling, and reading thrillers, nonfiction, and historical fiction.
Craig Lefteroff joined the Dayton Metro Library team in February, 2021, as Manager of the Kettering-Moraine Branch. He has worked in libraries since 2007, with stints in a number of different states, most recently Missouri. Born in Mississippi, he obtained his MLS from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, and has focused on public service and technology throughout his library career. When not reading horror novels or literary fiction, he enjoys bicycling, film, cooking, and keeping his cat entertained.
Cynthia Woodruff became the Miamisburg Branch Manager in 2023. Her career with Dayton Metro Library began in 2018 as a Patron Services Assistant at the Trotwood Branch and she has since held a variety of positions at DML. Cindy graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and she is a certified meditation teacher. She is an active volunteer for Lasagna Love and, in her free time, she enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family.
Damian Kristof joined the Dayton Metro Library system in January, 2021. Originally from the Cleveland area, he has worked in various roles at libraries in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati since 2001. Prior to being named Brookville Branch Manager, Damian worked as a teen librarian in the Cincinnati library system and he continues to hold teen and youth services close to his heart. He studied history at the Ohio State University and received his MLIS from Kent State. Damian lives in Brookville with his moderately well-behaved Yorkie. He enjoys travel, outdoor activities, watching the Buckeyes and the Reds, and he is active in his church.
Dorri Hegyi never imagined that her love of reading and storytime as a child would bring her to a life of librarianship. She started her career at the Dayton Metro Library in 1996 and earned her Master's Degree in Library Science from Kent State University in 2008. Before coming to Wilmington-Stroop, she served as Children's Librarian at the Miamisburg Branch from 2008 to 2020. She is excited to serve the community in which she lives.
Ms. Hary is a lifelong resident of Riverside and Mad River Township. Her love of books and librarianship comes from having four librarians in her immediate family! She has worked for Dayton Metro Library since 1988. Francesca enjoys classic literature, such as the works of Jane Austen.
Jason began his Library career in 1994 as a student aide at the East Branch Library. Prior to coming to the Northmont Branch, he was an Information Services Assistant at the Miami Township Branch. He has served on a variety of Library committees and community engagement partnerships. He holds degrees from Sinclair Community College and Indiana Wesleyan University, and earned his MLIS from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Jason enjoys reading nonfiction and memoirs and is an avid enthusiast of sports, pop culture, and outdoor recreational activities.
With a career marked by innovation and collaboration, Jeffrey is a champion of civil rights and social justice, particularly in the African American, Hispanic, and LGBTQ communities. After a 30 year career in both academic and public libraries Jeffrey returned to his roots in Dayton Ohio to become Dayton Metro Library's Executive Director in March of 2021.

Ms. Findlay joined the Dayton Metro Library in 2008 as an Assistant Branch Manager. She was promoted to Branch Manager of the West Carrollton Branch in October, 2015. Leading book discussion groups and introducing patrons to new authors & genres is her favorite part of the job. Karen's hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading and cats.

Ms. Gwinn joined Dayton Metro Library in August 2021. She has her MLS and over thirty-five years of experience in a variety of library and information management settings, including: academic, corporate, research, database administration, and documentation for Department of Defense and NASA Space Station. She has spent the last 18 years as a manager at Houston Public Library managing a variety of locations. Originally from Indiana, she has lived in Los Angeles, Huntsville, AL and Houston. A dog mom of three unruly beasts, she enjoys biking, hiking, writing, and traveling.
Melissa Zimmerman joined the Dayton Metro Library system in February, 2019. She has worked in various roles at libraries in Columbus and Licking County since 2013. Prior to being named Assistant Branch Manager, Melissa worked as a children services librarian at the Electra C. Doren branch. She studied English at Otterbein University and received her MLIS from Kent State in 2013. She enjoys documentaries and cozy mysteries. She is an avid knitter and weaver, and is a beginning gardener.

Mike Hensel joined the DML in January 2017 as Manager of the Wilmington-Stroop Branch. He began his career at the London (Ohio) Public Library in 1997 where he worked in Reference, Public Relations, Marketing and Information Technology. After earning his MLIS in 2009, he became Youth Services Manager, and in August 2010, he was named London Public Library Director.
He and his wife Kathleen have three children. He enjoys playing guitar, reading and a variety of outdoor sports, as well as coaching his children's recreational league teams.

Ms. Taste started her career as a Library Aide at Madden Hills while still in school. Since then, she has worked in a variety of positions, departments, and locations all across the Dayton Metro Library system. Sharon believes, "The field of Librarianship is one of the most rewarding careers with open door opportunities for inspiring individuals to achieve their endeavors, strengthen communities and explore tools for navigating this journey called life. I try to live by the saying 'If not me, then who? If not now, when?'"
Bill Stolz was raised in Dayton and has worked in a variety of public and academic libraries during his career. He joined Dayton Metro Library in 2018 as an Information Services Librarian Substitute at the Main Library. Previously, he worked at Wright State University and the Kenton County Public Library. Bill holds degrees from Ohio University, Wright State, and the University of Missouri-Columbia. When not at the Library, Bill is usually running, working in the yard, or reading mysteries and historical fiction.
Ms. Johnson began her professional career with Dayton Metro Library in 2002 as a Children's Librarian at Madden Hills before becoming the Branch Manager in 2011. Ms. Johnson then served as Branch Manager of both the Madden Hills and Westwood Branches. In 2022, the two Branches were merged into the new West Branch, where Ms. Johnson remains the Branch Manager. Her favorite authors are James Patterson and Kimberla Lawson-Roby. She enjoys working in her flower garden, reading, and playing with her pups Mylo and Zoey.
