Today, Escuela del Rio is a private non-profit, non-sectarian community organization that administers and directs several Programs that provide services to developmentally disabled adults. Escuela del Rio's wide range of programs and services have successfully demonstrated how adults with differing abilities can work, participate in the community, be active in sports, live independently and lead full and productive lives... Escuela del Rio provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities in North San Luis Obispo County... Escuela del Rio's mission is to provide a continuum of services that promotes independent and integrated lives for adults with developmental disabilities. This continuum offers clients opportunities that will maximize their choices and alternatives for living and working in the community, thus enabling them to become participating and contributing members of society.
