Derrick joined Forsyth County News as stinger for Forsyth Sports in July 2021. In March 2022, he officially became the Sports Reporter. Derrick graduated from Forsyth Central High School and went on to get his bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from Voorhees College, a HBCU in Denmark, S.C. Derrick also serves a photographer, videographer, social media content creator, and a graphic designer for Forsyth Sports.
Jim joined the Forsyth County News in 2006 as a photographer, later became webmaster, and is now Digital Director for the Forsyth County News, the Gainesville Times, and the Dawson County News. Jim has been involved in the news business since 1976, when he begain covering news for his hometown radio station.
Michelle joined Forsyth County News in Feb. 2023, with a background in television and multimedia journalism. A resident in Forsyth County since 2007, Michelle has been involved with various nonprofits and school programs in the area.

Mike Williams, the former CEO of Lanier Islands, died on Feb. 10 at the age of 59. The cause of death was brain cancer.

Nate joined The Times in 2015 as publications manager and is now group editor overseeing the newsrooms in Forsyth County News, Dawson County News and The Times in Gainesville. He's been in the business since 1999. He has "always been a news junkie" and "always believed that journalism is a necessary service."
Nick joined the Forsyth County News in 2022. Over the past 11 years, Nick has covered high school sports in Georgia, Arkansas and his home state of Missouri.
Sabrina Kerns started her journalism career by joining the Forsyth County News in May 2020. She loves getting out into the community where she covers local events, education, food, entertainment and most importantly, the incredible stories of the people living in Forsyth.
Shannon joined The Times in Gainesville in 2006 and served in various roles in the newsroom there, including four years as editor in chief. Now, she serves as director of audience for Metro Market Media, the parent company of the Forsyth County News, Dawson County News and The Times . Her work is focused on increasing readership and strengthening relationships between the communities and their local papers.
