Areas of Responsibility: As Executive Director of Genesis Health Group (GHG), Dexter provides overall vision, direction and leadership for practice operations and services of the region's largest network of multi-specialty physicians. GHG has nearly 700 employees, more than 40 clinics in Iowa and Illinois - spanning Muscatine to Erie and DeWitt to Aledo, and eight ancillary service locations (x-ray, laboratory, etc.) within or near the clinics. Bio: Dexter began serving in this role on an interim basis in September 2022 and was named to the permanent position in January 2023. Previously, Dexter served as Director of Primary Care-Ambulatory Operations, where he provided leadership for Genesis Health Group's Primary Care practices of 200+ physicians, with oversight of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Convenient Care, Pediatrics, and the Genesis Quad Cities Family Medicine Residency Program. During the pandemic, Dexter led and implemented pivotal COVID-19 response initiatives. Dexter began his career with Genesis in 2005 as a student employee with the Grounds Department. Beginning in 2010 and over the next decade, he held positions of increasing responsibility in Human Resources (HR) -- as HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, HR Director of Operations and Services, and HR Director for Ambulatory Services. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from St. Ambrose University, Davenport. He also is a graduate of the American Hospital Association's Next Generation Leaders Fellowship.

C. Dana Waterman III

C. Dana Waterman III graduated from Phillips Academy, Andover MA and Dartmouth College, Hanover NH, and from the University of Iowa College of Law. He joined the Quad Cities law firm of Lane & Waterman in 1971 and served as its Managing Partner from 2001 to 2016, the fourth generation of the Waterman family to lead the firm. In 2017, he transitioned to an Of Counsel role, in which he continues to advise business organizations and individuals on matters related to organization, operations, governance, financing, transactions, risk and compliance issues, as well as personal wealth planning. He joined the Genesis Health System board in 2006, and presently serves as its chair and member of the Compliance & Compensation, Executive and Governance committees. He also serves on the board of directors of several privately held companies; the Quad Cities Contributors Council (of which he is immediate past president); as a co-trustee of The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation; and as a founding co-trustor of the Quad Cities Cultural Trust. He previously served as board chair of the Quad Cities Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Iowa Law School Foundation, the Putnam Museum and Science Center and the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce (and several of its affiliate and/or predecessor organizations), and as a member of Augustana College board of trustees. In 2015 he was inducted into the Quad-Cities Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of the Heartland, and in December 2016, he was appointed a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Iowa (East). Dana and Faye, his wife of 51+ years, reside in Bettendorf when not spending time with their three adult children and seven grandchildren in Wheaton IL, Los Altos Hills CA and Bettendorf.

Christopher Crome

Areas of Responsibility: Serves as serve as the physician and medical affairs leader for the health system. In collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, the VPMA develops and implements strategic goals related to quality and safety improvement. Ensures that Genesis standards for medical practice are maintained through the ongoing development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support quality care, patient safety, clinical quality improvement, medical staff development and physician engagement. His oversight includes medical leadership and GHS medical staff committees, the Care Coordination Program and physician advisors. Bio: Dr. Crome joined the executive team November 1, 2021, after serving as a family physician for Genesis Health Group since 2004. During his 17 years caring for patients in family practice, Dr. Crome held numerous administrative and leadership roles within Genesis. Most recently, he served as the GHG Physician Leadership Group Practice Lead. Other leadership positions he has held include President of the Genesis Health System Physician Hospital Executive Committee, Division Chair of the Genesis Health Group Executive Committee and Chair of the Genesis Health Group Finance Committee. He also chaired the GHG Family Practice Compensation Redesign Committee and the Genesis Health System Medical Staff By-Law Redesign Committee. Dr. Crome holds bachelor's degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Northern Iowa. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and is a graduate of the Genesis Quad Cities Family Medicine Residency Program. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has served on the inpatient faculty for the residency program. He also has been a University of Iowa Medical Student Preceptor and Clarke College Physician Assistant Preceptor.

Mr. Zude is a lifelong resident of the Quad Cities, having been born at St. Luke's Hospital. He has been in the automobile business in the area since 1976, serving as Partner, President and General Manager of Courtesy Car City and Key Auto Mall in Moline and Courtesy Ford and Kimberly Car City in Davenport. As a member of the Genesis Board of Directors since 1998, Zude serves as chair of its Compliance & Compensation Committee and a member of its Governance Committee. He also formerly served as the chair of the Governance Committee. His interest in health care goes back much further, to the mid-1970s, when he worked in the Emergency Room at Moline Public Hospital and as an EMT-A at Illini Hospital, now Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus. David C. Larson

Mr. Larson brings global business and broad leadership experience to Genesis. He was a senior leader and corporate officer with Deere & Co., John Deere, for more than 37 years. He managed and supported all phases of Deere's businesses including significant focus in operations, engineering and product development, quality and reliability, mergers and acquisitions, and strategy throughout the John Deere enterprise worldwide. Dave joined John Deere in corporate engineering and subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility including general manager, division vice president, corporate director, managing director, corporate vice president, and enterprise strategy officer. Dave continues working as an adjunct faculty member within the Graduate and Executive Education program at the University of TN, as well as an occasional lecturer in the MBA programs at William and Mary and the University of Iowa. Dave consults with the leaders of a handful of corporations across the world, helping them focus on strategy, value, digital transformation, and global growth. Dave holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from William and Mary, the University of Iowa, and has done additional post-graduate work at Dartmouth and Columbia.

Edmund P. Coyne

Dr. Coyne, who joined the board in 2008, is a cardiologist, Radiation Safety Officer and President of Cardiovascular Medicine, PC, the Quad Cities' largest cardiac specialty physician group. Dr. Coyne is the chair of the board's Quality and Safety Committee and is past chair of the Genesis Heart Institute. He received his medical degree from Tufts University in Boston, Mass., and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston. While a major in the Air Force, he completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Wilford Hall U.S.A.F. Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Coyne is a Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty of cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, and a Diplomate, National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Motto is a retired internist. He joined the Genesis board in 1996, serving two terms as chairman. Dr. Motto also has served terms as Genesis Medical Center Medical Staff President and as Internal Medicine Section Chairman. Heidi Kahly-McMahon

Bio: Kahly-McMahon joined the Human Resources Leadership Team at Genesis Health System in 2001 as a Human Resources Manager. GMC-Davenport brings together the skills and efforts of more than 450 physicians, 3,000 staff and 1,000 volunteers. Bio: Voigt joined Genesis in 2011, when he served as Administrative Fellow to Genesis Health System President & CEO Doug Cropper. Following completion of his Fellowship in 2012, Voigt was named Executive Director of Clinical Operations & Programs for GMC-Davenport. In May 2013, he was named to the position of Administrator, GMC-West Central Park, which expanded to the position of Administrator, GMC-Davenport. In 2014, he was named President of GMC-Davenport. Voigt is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business Administration, with a concentration in Management, at Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill. Bio: Malas joined Genesis in July 2020 after 18 years with Downers Grove-based Advocate Health Care, the largest health system in Illinois. There, he served multiple roles as Controller/Director/Executive Director of Financial Services for Advocate Sherman Hospital. His other positions within Advocate included: Vice President Finance and Integration (Advocate Children's Hospital), Executive Finance Director (Shared Revenue Cycle Organization), and Controller/Director Financial Services (Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital). He began his career in health care as an Accountant at Advocate's corporate headquarters, after working in the marketing and transportation industries. Malas is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Operations Management. Dr. Fitzsimmons, who joined the Board in 2020, is a pathologist at Genesis Health Group. She received her medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed an anatomic pathology/clinical pathology residency and surgical pathology fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. After completing her training, Dr. Fitzsimmons joined the Genesis Medical Staff in 1997. Dr. Fitzsimmons was the Medical Director of the Laboratory at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt Campus, from 2010 until 2015. She is the current Medical Director of the Laboratory at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport East Campus. LaShonda W. Polite

LaShonda is a business savvy finance executive who loves her southern roots. Raised in Jacksonville, FL, she settled in the Quad Cities by way of John Deere. Early in her career, she served as an Analyst in the Treasury Department buying and selling commercial paper and again managing interest rate derivatives. She was also an Audit Lead and Accounting Supervisor before choosing to leave John Deere and become VP, Finance & Chief of Staff for a government consulting firm headquartered in the Washington, DC area. LaShonda held these roles and worked for ITG for 8 years where she sustained company operations and drove short and long-term profitability, even amid economic and credit crises. Mr. Kilmer is President of The Republic Companies, one of the largest independent wholesale distributors of electrical and HVAC equipment and supplies in the Midwest. A past Chairman of the board, he currently sits on the Finance, Patient Experience, Community Benefit Advisory and Governance committees. Kilmer is a Director of Quad City Bank & Trust and was named Board Chairman in 2007. He also serves as a Director of QCR Holdings. Bio: Posten moved into the Associate Administrator position for GMC-Davenport in May 2015. Before that, she was Director of Outpatient Services for the health system, with responsibility for the Diabetes Care Center, Pain Management Center, Spine Center, Endocrinology Clinic, Dialysis, and the Wound & Hyperbaric Institute. She joined Genesis in 2006 as a Clinic Supervisor for Genesis Health Group (GHG). Posten then held the position of Clinic Manager and in 2012 was then promoted to Director of Operations, where she was in charge of practice operations and services at all GHG clinics. Prior to joining Genesis, Posten, a Certified Public Accountant, held positions at Von Maur, Target and newspaper publisher Lee Enterprises. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from St. Ambrose University, and a Master of Business Administration from Western Illinois University. Posten and her husband, Dave, live in Davenport and have three children who keep them very busy. She is an avid runner, enjoys many sports, and loves boating with her family in the summer and skiing in the Rockies in the winter.

Bio: Peters brings nearly 30 years of health care experience, including 25 years in hospital leadership positions, to his role. Before joining Jackson County Regional Health Center (JCRHC) in February 2023, he served nine years as Chief Executive Officer of Guthrie County Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access hospital in Guthrie Center, Iowa, named by the National Rural Health Association as one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the country. During his tenure there, Peters managed a successful turnaround of operations - growing hospital operating revenue, establishing provider-based rural health clinics, improving patient satisfaction, introducing new clinical services and guiding a $1 million hospital remodel. Peters' experience also includes jobs as CEO/President of Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, a 49-bed hospital in Safford, Arizona, where he also served as Vice President of Support Services, and CEO of Keokuk County Health Center, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Sigourney, Iowa. His background also includes county public health management positions. A native of Morse, Iowa, near Iowa City, Peters graduated from Solon High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, a master's in Healthcare Administration from Saint Louis University, and earned a Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn.

She then was named the Patient Advocate, a position she held until 2012, when she was promoted to the position of Lean Specialist, overseeing the Cardiology and Orthopedic Value Streams. Said moved back into patient care when she was named Manager of the Orthopedic Unit at GMC-West Central Park in 2013. She accepted the position of the health system Patient Safety Officer in 2015, providing direct oversight of the health system's safety program. During that tenure, Genesis achieved zero serious safety events. She was promoted to the position of Director of Quality in 2017. In the course of her Quality leadership role, Genesis was recognized by IBM Watson Health as one of the Top 15 Health Systems in the country. She was named Executive Director of Quality and Safety in July 2020. Said earned a Nursing, Associate in Applied Science Degree from Scott Community College, Bettendorf, Iowa, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. She also holds a Master of Science in Nursing and Leadership from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minn. She is a member of the Iowa Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and St. Ambrose University's Institute of Person-Centered Care, and was recognized as one of Iowa's 100 Great Nurses in 2013.

Mr. Benson is a graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Iowa College of Law. In 2022 he retired as the Executive Vice President of Trust and Fiduciary Administration for Quad City Bank & Trust Company. From 2014 through December 31, 2019, he also served as the Chief Legal Officer for the Bank's parent company, QCR Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining the Bank in 2014, he was a senior partner of Lane & Waterman, LLP, where he practiced healthcare law, nonprofit law, and estate and trust planning, among other disciplines. Benson has been on the Genesis board since 2014. He is the current Chair of the Governance Committee and serves on the Executive and Medical Review Committees.

Robert (Bob) P. Prior to beginning at MercyOne on July 1, 2017, Bob served as President of Mercy Medical Center, an 802-bed acute care, not-for-profit Catholic hospital situated on three campuses in the Des Moines metro area. Guided by a faith-based mission, he also served in previous administrative roles as Division President of Hospital Sisters Health System in Springfield, Illinois; President/CEO of Monongalia Health System in Morgantown, West Virginia; and President/CEO of St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut where he started his career in 1987. Bob received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia, and holds a master's degree in health administration from Sloan Program in Health Services Administration from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Robin has been a resident of Clinton and Scott Counties her entire life. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in accounting in 1986 from St. Ambrose University and passed the CPA exam in May of 1987. Robin is Vice President of Operations for Ag Spectrum Company and has been employed there since 2003. Previous to that, she was in public accounting with KPMG (audit and tax), owned her own firm and was employed by two local firms doing taxes and bookkeeping. She started her service to Genesis as a member of the DeWitt Community Hospital board of directors and later joined the Genesis Health System Board. She served in that role until 2009 and returned to the board in 2019. She serves on the Misericordia Board of Directors and is a member of the Audit & Compliance and Community Benefit Advisory Committees. Previously, she has served two terms as council member and various other positions for her Church, STAR Committee volunteer and was involved in various roles with the DeWitt Chamber and Development Committee.

Steven C. Bahls

Mr. Bahls joined Augustana College 2003 as its eighth president, retiring in 2022 when he was named President Emeritus. After retirement, he became a Senior Advisor and Program Director for the Presidential Vocation and Institution Mission program of the Council of Independent Colleges, a consultant for the Association of Governing Boards Consulting and a part-time faculty member at Augustana College. Bahls started serving the Genesis board in 2009, serving as chair of the board from 2018 to 2022. He serves on the Compliance & Compensation, Executive and Governance Committees. Bahls, an active leader in the community, has served as chair of the boards of the Illowa Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce, the Putnam Museum and Science Center, the Quad Cities Chamber Foundation, the Lutheran Education Conference of North America, the Quad City Cultural Trust and the Illinois Federation of Independent Colleges and Universities. He serves on the board of Capital University and is member of the Council of the American Bar Association Section on Legal Education. Earlier in his career, he was a business lawyer in Milwaukee, a law professor at the University of Montana and the dean of Capital University Law School.

Ted Rogalski

Area of Responsibility: All aspects of day-to-day hospital operations and strategic development, such as new construction, physician relations and expanding hospital services for GMC-Aledo, located in Aledo, Ill., and GMC-DeWitt, located in DeWitt, Iowa. Bio: Rogalski began his career in health care at St. Luke's Hospital, a predecessor to Genesis, now known as Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport. During that time, he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at St. Ambrose University. He moved to the Twin Cities, where he directed surgical support services at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis before returning to school. He received his Master's degree in Health Care and Hospital Administration from the University of Iowa and worked for Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, before returning to Genesis in 1997 as it's first Administrative Fellow. Over the past 25 years with Genesis, he has held a number of leadership positions, including Director of Materials Management, Director of Neurosciences and Imaging Services, Interim CEO of GMC-DeWitt and Administrator, GMC-Aledo. Rogalski, a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, currently serves as Chair for the Illinois Hospital and Health Association Board of Trustees and Treasurer for the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network. He has also served as the Chair for the Small and Rural Hospital Committee of the Illinois Hospital Association and has been an active community volunteer on the boards of the American Hospital Association - Regional Policy Board, Vera French Mental Health Center, St. Ambrose University PA Program, Mercer County Better Together, Mercer County YMCA, St. Paul the Apostle School, Assumption High School Century Club, and Friendship Manor.
